Portraits
I've been shooting a lot of portraits recently and it's been a while since I've shared anything here. These were all shot from the beginning of the summer until the end of the year - most of which were captured during the consumption of alcohol. Those forum members who are also Facebook friends of mine may have seen some of these already.
They're all shot with pretty much the same set up: wide-angle lens and a single flash triggered via sync cable above and to the left of subject. Some of them are watermarked and some are facebook resized - my bad. Let me know what you think. I'm surprised nobody replied to these.
I'm a big fan of the first two B&W party shots. Background and the way you processed them gives a sense of light-hearted chaos. They just seem focused, yet messy. I dig it. |
I missed it too the first time around. I think that the vignetting with the center sharpness gives a very dramatic look that is fantastic.

Much appreciated, gentlemen. :)
|
I love how you have the ability to capture "it" in your subjects. Excellent. Your instinct is good.
|
I caught a few of these in your photostream a few months back, but I'm glad that you decided to feature the ones you did, for whatever reason. My mind really gravitates toward themes, and so I like when others decide to allow me the chance to observe theirs.
I missed a few of the above, and I really like the way you juxtaposed the first photo from the last one, and those in-between (even if it was all unintentional, random ordering). |
I love these shots. They just feel so "raw" and real. The textures in the fourth last one are amazing.
You have some mad skillz with that camera of yours! |
Haha @ mad skillz. Thanks for looking, guys and gal.
|
yeah.. not sure how I missed these.. guess I need to start paying better attention.
as always good work, but for some reason, the 3rd down is my favorite.. reminds me of the "crazy days gone by". |
*gasp* really, how did I miss these, too?
I would say they are fabulous but it would sound trite. I am totally enamored of your photographs including these portraits. But I think you know that already. I just think you're, well, fabulous in the most un-trite way. You have a remarkable talent. :) |
The last one is my favorite. It's worth way more than 1000.
|
You're such a sweetheart, mm. Thanks a lot guys. Much appreciated.
