Quiet Country Road
Took a brief drive (3-4 miles at most) for these.
here is the first one, more will be posted hopefully tonight when I have time to convert raw pictures and finish them. These are all scaled down to the 100k size with approximate 1000x700 pixel dimensions. http://www.torlian.net/TFP/15aug09-c..._road-pic0.jpg |

Hey it looks like home!
Nice pictures, I enjoy these. I love taking pictures of old combines and barns, there are so many out here. |
That first picture is fantastic.

Thank you for the comments. These are all from the same spot on the back road to Pullman. It has been on my mind for quite some time to take these , and was a good chance to use my DSLR.
last of the batch worth posting here IMO (aside from a possible panoramic shot I have yet to assemble) Pic 8 http://www.torlian.net/TFP/15aug09-c..._road-pic8.jpg Pic 9 http://www.torlian.net/TFP/15aug09-c..._road-pic9.jpg Pic 10 - showing my previous two subjects http://www.torlian.net/TFP/15aug09-c...road-pic10.jpg Pic 11 Might have a hard time starting http://www.torlian.net/TFP/15aug09-c...road-pic11.jpg Pic 12 http://www.torlian.net/TFP/15aug09-c...road-pic12.jpg ---------- Post added at 09:55 AM ---------- Previous post was at 09:51 AM ---------- Last of them Pic 13 http://www.torlian.net/TFP/15aug09-c...road-pic13.jpg Pic 14 http://www.torlian.net/TFP/15aug09-c...road-pic14.jpg Pic 15 http://www.torlian.net/TFP/15aug09-c...road-pic15.jpg Pic 16 - This is right next to the busy four lane highway linking Pullman & Moscow http://www.torlian.net/TFP/15aug09-c...road-pic16.jpg These subjects look better with the full 3888x2592 raw quality or the roughly 28 MB Tiff files that were downscaled into these JPGs. |
Nice pics...they evoke a quiet, peaceful feeling.

I like that. As a kid, the mechanical internals of old farm equipment used to seem really interesting. The levers, the springs...
|
Oooooooo. I would enjoy a drive with this kind of scenery.
These are my favorites of the set: http://www.torlian.net/TFP/15aug09-c...road-pic16.jpg http://www.torlian.net/TFP/15aug09-c...road-pic11.jpg http://www.torlian.net/TFP/15aug09-c..._road-pic2.jpg |
Nice set and interesting subjects. I love looking at photos of rusty, old, weatherbeaten, worn things, especially machinery. Thanks for sharing these.

Love that old tractor. Massey-Harris was founded in 1847 in Ontario as the Massey Foundry & machine Manufactory. It merged with A.E. Harris & sons Co. in 1891 to become Massey-Harris making it the largest agricultural equipment maker in the British Empire.
In 1953 it merged with the Ferguson company to become the familiar Massey-Ferguson. After many years of financial trials, the company was eventually purchased by AGCO Corporation of Georgia, who currently owns it. Since 1962, Massey Ferguson has been the world's leading tractor brand. Currently, there are more Massey tractors than any other, worldwide. (see wikipedia) sorry, couldn't resist the Green Acre - ism of a passion for the tractor. / end geeky threadjack I hope you don't mind, I love those pictures you posted, and it reminded me of some shots that I felt compelled to take (with my phone cam) just near Toronto that I would like to contribute. I was on a country drive too - if there are any locals looking, this is just off of RR 56 near Blackstock Ontario. http://i35.photobucket.com/albums/d1...0/DSC00500.jpg http://i35.photobucket.com/albums/d1...DSC00501-1.jpg http://i35.photobucket.com/albums/d1...0/DSC00502.jpg |
Great photos; one & sixteen are my favorites.
