Our Back Yard
Hey - I'm a very long time member at TFP, but almost never ventured out of the Car forum until now. I'm looking for a new place to share my snapshots, of which I have many++.
One of the things I like to do best with my camera is take pictures in our back yard. It's easy and there's always something new to shoot. About 1 1/2 years ago I bought a Nikon D40 and a 300 mm lens and I've been having fun ever since. If there's interest, I have shitloads more in a big range of interests. I just like to take pictures. |

Part 2
As close as I can determine, the are Nandy Conures. That was the first time I've ever seen parrots in the back yard, and I've lived here 11 years.
---------- Post added at 08:49 PM ---------- Previous post was at 08:47 PM ---------- Here's part 2, mostly pics from last year (same back yard tho). I have to explain this one. There was a squirrel nest up in a Norfolk Pine in our back yard. One day I walked up under the tree and shot the nest straight up. This is what I saw. There are so many squirrels in that nest that they're hanging out over the edges. It's a squirrel bachelor pad! For a while, I contemplated using them for target practice. It's all good now though. Ugly yet adorable!
Great pictures, bodypainter. Thanks for taking the time to share them with us. It seems like you get to see a variety of birds at your feeders! Lucky you. My yard has been taken over by a pack of territorial scrub jays. Yes, I'd like to see more, if you have time.

You have a very active backyard.
It's like a little ecosystem you check back on every now and again. I'd very much like to thank you for sharing. This is a instant eye-catcher of yours. Quote:

Wow! So much wildlife in your backyard! Thank you for sharing your photos. Our yard is far less interesting - a few lizards and an occasional hummingbird. I did see a coyote with a housecat in his mouth down the street a few months ago, but I didn't catch it on film.

Keep sharing those crazy antics of your resident wildlife. Incredible shots. I can't believe I didn't see these until now.
