Went to see ...And You Will Know Us By The Trail of Dead. And they didn't play one song from the album that I actually like. Terrible crowd, boring set.

Got drunk after the show and tested out my new homemade snoot.

thanks guys..

that was my first day of the weekend - fridat(yes its a fri/sat weekend here). the first two pics are about 2-3 minutes from my place..the rest were taken when i was on the way up tha coast between Dubai and Abu Dhabi. its amazing what you miss when you jump on a highway. i decided to follow the coast instead and realised theres a lot of things people dont know existed!

this is my saturday. drove into Oman again. i was bored..and didnt have my passport, but the border patrol took me at face value and let me into the country without one! i told him i was came for a drive and just wanted to drive around and come back. it worked!

Well I know this is the next weekend past this thread, but I was just up in a plane for 3 hours snapping pictures. I will post some once I get them off my camera and I finish making dinner.

And dlish I think I will take you up on that offer one of these days, I am still dying to get over to Dubai.

We hiked to the top of the hill (Dimple Hill) at the north end of town during a break in the rain. It was really nice to get out in the fresh air.

A gully on the hill:

The prominent ribbon of street you can see in the top left of the photo is my street; I live just shy of where it disappears in the picture.

A gnarled tree in another gully, same perspective of town:

A lonely bench at the top of the hill:

A view of Witham Hill and the edge of town to the west-southwest, with Bald Hill in the far distance:

Bald Hill is another popular hiking spot; I expect we'll get out there some weekend this spring once the trails there dry out a bit more. Both Bald Hill and Dimple Hill have large swatches of native oak savannah that blooms with wildflowers in summer.

Looks very similar to Eastern Sierra Nevada mountains.

It looks horribly boring in the summer. You can be sure I will post pictures as I take them. This is not where I call home, but where I grew up is similar... its just a huge city in the middle of open space.

The house I am currently living in is awesome, I love not having neighbours. I can walk around my house naked with the blinds open, go outside naked to feed the cats or start my truck in the mornings (yes I even do that in the winter sometimes). I can watch movies with the stereo as loud as I want. It is going to feel strange moving back into a city I think.

blah - yeah word is, that boat is owned by Sheikh Mo (thats Sheikh Mohammad - prime minister of the UAE and ruler of Dubai)

there was a huge sandstorm that day so the pics arent very clear. it's a Mo'Fo of a boat!

ive got the fishing rods ready blah...

Sounds fantastic...but one might get to feeling a little isolated sometimes, though, I imagine. But if I knew it were going to be temporary I would love to live like that for a while.

got another trip planned for tomorrow. planning on going to Hatta tomorrow on the border between UAE and Oman. its been raining here for the past 24hrs, so the valleys and wadi's would have filled up with water. cant wait to see it. havent been out in the desert just after the rain. should be fun.

what my main concern here is, why you think that any of these pics lack a sense of reality. they are all real..none are touched up or edited. i dont understand how any of this is lacking reality.

I flew from Toronto to Vancouver, accompanying my Lady to a conference being held at a little resort town sitting by the water.

I was above the Rockies - 40,000 feet worth of altitude

Passed a contrail up close. Never did that before, I grabbed a photo before it dissipated.

Looked at the town from a dock, enjoying the greenery backed by snow covered mountains.

Went for a stroll and looked up at some really cool, big ol' trees

This is not where I call home, but where I grew up is similar... its just a huge city in the middle of open space. The house I am currently living in is awesome, I love not having neighbours.
