Spanish men are known for their devotion to family, especially their daughters. I thought this image really captured that sentiment. |

We took the boo to a Halloween event yesterday. She didn't wear her costume because it was too hot (scorching hot & no shade; I felt really bad for some of these kids) but I did manage to get a few shots of the costume contests that I liked.

These ladies are tea pickers, in the highlands of Sri Lanka. I'm not sure if they were joking about me wearing a sarong, or that I had just walked past them and they were surprised. I like the slice of life shot:

Over the past year and a half there have been monumental changes in lives of my sister and I...some of which led to misunderstandings and hurt feelings. Her unhappy marriage and depression was the root of it all. These pictures were taken last month during a weekend get away to help get over it all. We have different ways of seeing life's events, but we're finally on track with each other again. I love her.
I took this of her... http://i562.photobucket.com/albums/s...0710Medium.jpg ...and she took this of me. http://i562.photobucket.com/albums/s...0706Medium.jpg |

I liked how this photo captured her hands and facial expression, echoing the religious iconography of the saints. She was the annual Swamp Buggy Queen, a long-standing tradition and highly-esteemed honor in Naples, on a scale as revered as any royalty or goddess or saint. She presided over the swamp buggy races all day in the hot sun. Taken on October 25, 2009 with a Sigma 50-500mm lens.

These pictures are amazing. As much as I like the quiet or here where I live, a part of me really misses all the people and happenings of the city.
This thread makes me long to go back. Sigh. |

My sister. Christmas morning. We both got cameras, opened them and took pictures of eachother taking pictures of eachother.
http://i62.photobucket.com/albums/h9...conite/001.jpg This is one of my best friends. We took a roadtrip to the next town over for lunch, got a flat tire, and ended up sitting on the sit of the road for an hour waiting for her mother to come rescue us. I love this picture. http://i62.photobucket.com/albums/h9...conite/015.jpg |

These are excellent pictures. I hope to do as well soon. Bought my first digital camera last month. Had $20,000 worth of old equipment I sold for a five hundred dollar digital.
