Share Your City!
Living in a city with the worlds tallest tower that keeps growing, i thought i'd share this amazing building called 'Burj Dubai' or the 'Tower of Dubai'. oddly enough there are plans to surpass this with another tower in dubai that was unveiled this week. you can expect that one to finish in about 10 years!
it just keeps getting taller and taller every month. ambition has no boundaries. so i thought that if im sharing my city, why not everyone share theirs? post your skyscrapers and show us your cities! id love to see where everyone else lives. here is mine

I wish it was a holiday. While the location is cool... it's almost entirely work.

This is an aerial shot of Corvallis facing south--it's only a small sliver of the city. In the image, you can see most of downtown and Southtown, as well as the floodplain across the river from downtown. The river that runs through our city is the Willamette. The three bridges, going southwards (upwards in the picture), are the Harrison St bridge, the Van Buren Bridge, and at the top of the picture, the Peoria Bypass Bridge. If you look just past the top bridge, you can see where the river bends; I'm playing soccer at a park there this morning. My house is to the west (the left side) of the picture--you can't see where I live on this photo as Corvallis basically spreads westwards and northwards from this point. I'll try and see if I can get some photos whilst I'm out. You also cannot see Oregon State University's campus in this photo; it is directly west of downtown.

here's a few of my town:
from the banks of the mighty genesee: the George Eastman house, being shot by a horse, of course: two of our finest: the main library, in the dead of nite: off on a photo expedition with some pals, to shoot an old abandoned subway tunnel. actually, this runs right underneath the previously mentioned library: finally, dodging traffic at the end of my street, while on my way to the local tavern for a cold one: Last edited by paddyjoe; 10-18-2008 at 02:42 PM.. |

Its 12 photos seemlessly stiched , and pretty damn well too. I was impressed how it came out. Its not ash from a bush/brush fire, that is volcanic rock. Its a volcano that erupted about 1000 years ago. Lenox Crater. To its left is Sunset Crater (photo here)

I was just about to start a similar thread...
Here are some photos i took this morning around town.
I was going to start a thread like this. Instead i'll just drag this old one back into the light... Here's a couple of the SuperPit we have on our doorstep, And this is our local museum This is our old post office. It's not used anymore, But the clock is still right & it's on the main street of town. ... To give you some idea of the size of the SuperPit I was lucky enough to be driving past the mine enterance this morning as a new truck arrived,

Well a big hole in the ground isn't really very pretty. But i figure it's interesting to have on our doorstep. ---------- Post added at 12:03 PM ---------- Previous post was at 11:51 AM ---------- Quote:
Here's a photo i just scooped off an abc news website. Shows how close the superpit is to town, We've recently (in the last few years) had to move the highway so that they could get at some new ore they found. We've just started mining it this year. Huge restrictions, No mining at night & gotta be carefull of early morning noise & try to make no dust. So the towns people don't get upset.
