Whew... I thought you might have included a picture of our house, but it's only our street, hahaha. Yeah, that was a really nice snowfall, wasn't it? Complemented our late-night viewing of Biden vs. Palin (with popcorn) very nicely.

I just walked down to the end of my street (crossing lotsofmagnet's street on the way) to have a look at Esja with the beautiful early snow covering her... you can see my exact view in the 2nd to last pic, though I walked all the way to the end to see more of the mountain. I do love the way Esja looks in the winter on a clear blue-sky day, like a big chocolate wedding cake with buttercream frosting draped down her slopes. I wonder if it will snow much again before we leave Iceland... I'm enjoying this bit of snow while we can.

. The First Snowfall
The first snowfall of winter is gently floating down, it doesn't seem to settle, only hover over town. And in the quiet stillness, unbroken silent sound, a snowflake wanders slowly to its place upon the ground. Peering through my window, I watch the snowflakes dance in a silent pirouette that leaves their fate to chance. As each one tumbles softly in misty shrouds of white, I somehow know the snow will last the night. Could it be I'm dreaming, or could it be I'm right; do the snowflakes really fall in patterns made of light? Twisting, ever turning, softly falling flakes of down, angels' pillows gently come to rest upon the town. -Jane Ellen Beautiful glimpse into a world far different from where I am now -- thank you! Today it was 70 degrees and sunny.

I love the snow...great pics. It's only 40F here overnight, so it'll be a while before it snows. I wish winter would stay longer.

I love the first snowfall of the season... or any snow that comes out looking fresh and clean.
No snow here any time soon.

Anyway, if you really like winter, feel free to move to Iceland and join us! October to April, no real spring or autumn, and about 3 months of summer if we're lucky.
