This week in Scapponia
It's been too hot here to go far from home, so here are some pics from around my stomping grounds.
Rugosa Rose. Unsung likes these better than the Tea Roses usually found in gardens. http://www.pbase.com/image/18410011/large.jpg Snowy the ferret in her demesne. http://www.pbase.com/image/18407845/large.jpg Maui contemplating mischief. http://www.pbase.com/image/18410386/large.jpg Higher resolution versions are here Here's one from a couple weeks ago. Good stuff. Like the close-up flower and that ferret face. Where is that water? Looks like it might be cooler out there.
Thanks. The water is the mouth of the Columbia river. It is cooler there, only an hour's drive too. I feel cooler just looking at it.
What did you do to make my ferret sing like that? What are the words? I can tell she wasn't just humming this time.
Mouth of the Columbia? Are you Oree-gone side or War-shington side? Me, I'm outside o' Seattle. Nice Rugosa shot. Not overexposed, good color.
Thanks. I got lucky on the light for the rose. I'm on the Orygun side. Formerly of Portland. Ever hear of Scappoose? Vernonia? St. Helens (the town)? This fall I'll be making an outing to Longbeach to try and catch the brown pelican's migration stop-over.

The flower with the bee. Great shot. The panarama shot of the lake is good too
