Are these monthly? If so, I call first dibbs on next months challenge.
Shot these while driving down to South Carolina this summer: Note the giant hamburgers. Found this inside the shop.

The only real vacation I've taken in my adult life...St. Thomas, Virgin Islands. Sequestered in my room with a severe allergic reaction to penicillin. We had a nice view, though.

cool. A challenge I can participate in! We visited my parents in Hendersonville, North Carolina. My parents say it's the home of Carl Sandberg (they could be wrong), who liked goats. So they had these goats on the sidewalk, after awhile they auction them off and donate the money to a local charity.

From the Royal Mayan (Cancun) taken back in Jan. Taken at sunrise. Don't think you can really see them but in the center-left they're two young drunk girls trying to find they way back to their rooms. Still in their swim suits and covered in sand.

This was the first day of my vacation at the Grand Canyon a couple years ago. I'd hiked a mile or so down the Bright Angel trail and got caught in a nasty thunderstorm. Cold rain, hail, lightning. Fortunately, I found a rock overhang to hide out under during the worst of the rain.

This and the Keys are some of my favorite Florida spots. If you take the "Cat" you can get from one spot to the other in about 3 1/2 hours.

Here are some of my favorite shots from our weekend trip around the West Fjords of Iceland (24 hours of driving on shitty dirt roads, but so worth it). Ktspktsp gets credit for the puffin shot...

Thanks, dlish. Any traveling is good, no matter the destination! But you're always welcome to stop by Iceland, as long as we're here.

mirevolver, good to see you here again!
I like your pic of the southwesternmost tip of Europe... funny, we were just at Iceland's "famous" westernmost (and northwesternmost) tip of Europe, though I doubt anyone else in Europe agrees...

Some times the best part of a vacation is coming home. This was on my way home from Washington driving through Montana.
In no way do I claim to be much of a photographer, but I thought these not so shabby from my old camera as I was driving. 1700 miles had to keep myself occupied somehow, not so much traffic for me during my drive time. |
