Wekiwa Wildlife Shots
On the latest visit to Wekiwa Springs, I wasn't able to spot any deer or armadillos, and the gators refused to be photogenic, grumpy bastards. :grumpy:
Anyway, I thought to contribute with these shots. Let me know what you think. All feedback is appreciated, even ruthless criticism! http://img508.imageshack.us/img508/6493/bird1yn1.jpg http://img167.imageshack.us/img167/4391/bird2zd7.jpg http://img508.imageshack.us/img508/735/bird3cf8.jpg http://img112.imageshack.us/img112/4103/turtle2yt4.jpg http://img242.imageshack.us/img242/5629/turtle3va8.jpg http://img300.imageshack.us/img300/4569/lizardvf7.jpg http://img181.imageshack.us/img181/8106/matinggg9.jpg http://img181.imageshack.us/img181/9011/fatbeecb1.jpg http://img301.imageshack.us/img301/158/canoetx5.jpg |
Wekiva??!!:paranoid:
We're neighbors. Nice shots. :) |
Those are amazing! How on earth did you get that second last shot? The one of the bug flying
|
These are swell. Love the way the color pops in the bird from the first pic.
The d40 is a sweet little camera. 18-200? |
mixedmedia: Wekiwa it is. I've already run into two folks from another internet forum I frequent and discovered that they live on the same street as me, so I'm fully prepared for a third. Oh, and I'm glad you liked the shots. :D
blahblah454: Luck and determination. There were around a hundred discarded shots of its brethren. :) Manic_Skafe: I was very pleased with the lighting effects for the first shot and how it accentuated the curvature and texture of the lily pads. The D40 is the only camera I will bring, as it's a perfect size. Nikkor 55-200mm VR lens. |
I have lived here for 20+ years and it's always been called Wekiva - I don't care how they spell it. :p
|
mixedmedia: Too bad, it's Wekiwa! ;)
(okay, I will also pronounce it as Wekiva) |
Nice work! Makes me want to save up and buy me a real camera.
|
Nice work. There is some nice contrast in these shots.
|
All shots were excellent. :)
|
jewels: There isn't a better time than now! You can purchase the D40 w/18-55mm for under $500, which is a complete steal for a DSLR and lens that are both top quality.
JumpinJesus: Glad to receive positive feedback from a fellow photographer. The contrast is what I was going for with many of the shots. *Nikki*: Thank you. :) |
These are lovely! I spent a summer working at Camp Wekiva—lots of similar such critters to see.
Now I kind of want a "real" camera too. |
