Short, uneventful trip to Apopka
I am definitely taking the same photographs over and over and over again...I need a change of pace. I don't know why I am compelled to take these shots, any of them...but then I think about roachboy's observation in my journal about trying to capture time...and I see how I do that again and again...but instead of the important or pretty or otherwise notable things, it's the mundane things I want to preserve...so this is what came out of my uneventful trip to Apopka today...we ended up getting sidetracked in a pawn shop where we bought some dvds and that were that, lol.

i like the 4th one where the only real colour is the fancy car even though itīs not really that colourful. there seems to be a general fascination with the colour white
|
well, yes, and I tend to desaturate my pictures...some more than others.
I find that the Nikon collects very vibrant color and that only works for me on certain shots...like the red door. Otherwise I prefer to mute things down to the dusty, vintage tones...that car was PURPLE, very purple, lol, and he stopped there with his big old stereo booming to try and figure out what the hell I was doing, lol. |
looking at the car i think he stopped for the photo opportunity. were you impressed with his choice of music?

The one thing I always love about your photos, mm, are the lines. There are always beautiful lines in your pictures that draw my eye around accordingly. I love good lines, and you are a master at composing shots that accomplish this. Well done.

I have long been drawn to lines of all sorts - parallel, intersecting, diverging, receding, curving...what have you. It's another theme I find myself looking at a lot. |
The last two pictures are my favorites. I love texture in photos, and I love red in photos.
Nice. (: |
I've always enjoyed your sets and these photos are no exception.
Especially the 5th - nicely composed. |
Thank you, both. :)
