ok, went through and picked ou a few photos from my trip to the mentioned places last weekend. sorry about how many photos there are so i´ve decided to split it into 2 parts so will post some now and some later. this time i´ll explain at least a few of the photos. ps i was pointered in cleaning up the photos a bit although i´m no pro i did make them a bit better this time so shout outs to that person who shall remain nameless except to stay their name started with r and ended with anger joe. the photos:
on the road out http://i52.photobucket.com/albums/g1...s/IMGP3608.jpg 4 waterfalls (seljalandsfoss on the right) http://i52.photobucket.com/albums/g1...s/IMGP3612.jpg seljalandsfoss http://i52.photobucket.com/albums/g1...s/IMGP3619.jpg http://i52.photobucket.com/albums/g1...s/IMGP3614.jpg http://i52.photobucket.com/albums/g1...s/IMGP3615.jpg http://i52.photobucket.com/albums/g1...s/IMGP3616.jpg http://i52.photobucket.com/albums/g1...s/IMGP3624.jpg skógafoss http://i52.photobucket.com/albums/g1...s/IMGP3626.jpg note the nesting birds http://i52.photobucket.com/albums/g1...s/IMGP3633.jpg http://i52.photobucket.com/albums/g1...s/IMGP3639.jpg notice the face on the left facing the waterfall. and you wonder why icelanders believe in hidden people... http://i52.photobucket.com/albums/g1...s/IMGP3646.jpg view out to vestmanneyjar from near mýrdalsjökull http://i52.photobucket.com/albums/g1...s/IMGP3661.jpg the famous black beaches of vík taken from dýrhólaey http://i52.photobucket.com/albums/g1...s/IMGP3668.jpg stjórnarfoss in kirkjubćjarklauster http://i52.photobucket.com/albums/g1...s/IMGP3686.jpg http://i52.photobucket.com/albums/g1...s/IMGP3688.jpg coming up towards vatnjökull, the largest in iceland. http://i52.photobucket.com/albums/g1...s/IMGP3693.jpg "remember the seatbelt." i love this advertising campaign. back in au we´re force-fed images of dead people and lots of blood. http://i52.photobucket.com/albums/g1...s/IMGP3697.jpg svínafellsjökull, a glacier tongue of vatnjökull. last time i was here i climbed onto this glacier. behind it slightly to the right and partially obscured by clouds is iceland´s tallest mt. called hvannadalshnjúkur at 2110m http://i52.photobucket.com/albums/g1...s/IMGP3699.jpg our arrival at jökulsárlón http://i52.photobucket.com/albums/g1...s/IMGP3703.jpg http://i52.photobucket.com/albums/g1...s/IMGP3706.jpg http://i52.photobucket.com/albums/g1...s/IMGP3709.jpg i´ll post the rest later. any comments welcome and i´d appreciate tips seeing all the quality work everybody else has done in the photography section. |
Why in the hell do you think that you don't take good pictures? I'm scrolling down, thinking "oh! I like that one! Oh! My favorite!"... "No! I like that one!"
I can't choose. ): So many good shots. The waterfall shots were going to be my favorite, and then there was that last picture in your first post. GAH. >.< Love it. AND THEN AND THEN After the first picture in your second post, I about lost it. Wonderful. (: Okay, I'm done boosting your ego. =P Very nice, though. |
hehe cheers for the support my ego is definitelly +1 :ţ still, looking around here and the quality of photos it´s pretty hard to not feel like a man among giants. admittedly the photos of ţingvellir (pronounced closest to "thingvetleer") are in the evening with way less than perfect light which is why the colours didn´t turn out as well. also i guess trying to capture a waterfall like gullfoss which is huge is a pretty big task and seeing what i have seen through my own eyes as a tiny picture really doesn´t do it justice (to me anyway.) still, i´m going to keep at it and on the better days get back into the super 8 (although that will be a bit hard to post here...)

Iceland is an absolutely gorgeous place and you've captured it well for us. If you've got more, don't hesitate to share them. I'd love to see them.
|
thanks!!!!! great photos!!!
Skogafoss... no R. :P |
thanks for pointing that out - i´m a stickler for correct spelling. still, there are street signs on laugavegur calling it laugarvegur...
|
Those are some nice pictures/scenery. I'm envious.
Did any one see a face in this picture? It's on the right side. http://i52.photobucket.com/albums/g1...s/IMGP3787.jpg |
yes, that's an Icelandic troll or elf.... they are all over the place in Iceland.
|
Wow! That's some magnificent scenery!
|
the more I see this the more I guess I have to go through my photos and post them. I have thousands of photos from our many Iceland trips.
|
definitely curious to see others´ trip photos from here. this place changes so fast each time i go anywhere it´s completely different.
|
I really want to go there some day... great shots.
