______________________________________________________________ So after days of being pulled to several friends who NEED this fixed or that looked at I decided to take a day and head into Merida. Merida is a beautiful city with some amazing architecture. Several churches date to the early 1500's and were built using stone from the local Mayan pyramids. I thought I'd see about snapping some shots to post here. As I left I notice a hint of gray on the far off horizon. I made it about 10mins into a 30min trek and the sky let loose like God himself (or her, your pick) opened a valve. He must have also turned on a fan as the wind suddenly made driving more then a mere simple task. So I headed back to the beach, passing several accidents along the way. No serious injuries noted, fender benders and unhappy wet people exchanging words and insurance info. After shuttering the house I had a bite of lunch. The rain stopped and I walked down to the beach for these quick shots: Every morning around 0200 fishermen ride their bikes down to these boat and row out for the days catch. Coconuts liter the ground around this tree. For some reason they are extremely bitter. Easy to obtain, taste like shit. Funny how life works sometimes. Immediately after this shot the sky opened again and I headed home. Just another shitty day in paradise.

Thanks for the story and the pictures, Tully. I want to see and hear more about your life in paradise. Shitty and otherwise. ****************************************** Today I go to Megacon in an attempt to photograph freaks, geeks and other assorted nerds. Such as these folks: I hear that folks' are very eager to have their pictures taken, which is good, as I is too shy to ask most of the time. Maybe this will help me get past that hesitancy. At any rate, I am going with all three of my kids, so I am looking forward to being with all of them...that rarely happens these days.

These shots are a few of the more tame ones I took: A group of friends from Ohio. They all worked at the same insurance company. I gave serious consideration to switching my insurance after a couple drinks with them. Never really spoke with this couple, but as I walked by the lady said "Is your camera full or did you want a picture?" Had she not spoke up I wouldn't have even noticed her. I was in hot pursuit of a place to leave some rented beer. One of my favorites. She was working at a tourist crap, err, I mean trap. And for the record...yes, I did. And my all time favorite... Down towards Mallory Square I found out we're all going to hell. Of course salvation can still be had if you join with them and renounce your sinful ways. Unless your gay, then you're just screwed.

I am so exhausted.
So I am going to these career classes for three hours every Monday night. It's in order to get 'single mom's' financial assistance when I start school this summer. But there's this woman there... And all she talks about is how Jesus did this for her, Jesus did that for her. Jesus put this information in front of her. Jesus was sitting on the judge's bench during her divorce hearing last Friday. I'm about ready to yell, 'Jesus-fucking-Christ woman! Aren't you responsible for anything good that happens to you??!!' There's a few other Jesus ladies in there, too, but only the one who apparently doesn't have to lift a goddamned finger 'cause Jesus is her personal assistant. Ugh, I am totally fried. Me and Jesus feel like this.
