2 Shots From Today
Both taken in Queens. Minor post processing - straightening, sharpening, etc.
Thoughts/ opinions? Thanks for viewing. http://i252.photobucket.com/albums/h...045-edited.jpg http://i252.photobucket.com/albums/h...022-edited.jpg |
Do you have the first one in color? The only reason why I ask is because there's this awesome plugin on Paint.NET that I have where it gives it a "film/hollywood" effect. I think it would look good on that picture.
I like the subway platform shot... the repetition of the supports give a long, narrow hallway feel to the picture.
BTW - there is noone on the platform - what time did you take this shot, 4am? |
RJ, I've been obsessed with black and white recently so I don't have any color shots but the misses and I both shot this same scene so I'll see if she has it in color. Where can I find the plugin?
troit, the shots weren't taken too late - it's the freezing temps that kept the majority of the people waiting for the train on the (warmer) lower platform. Thanks for the comments. |
I like the second one...love the depth and the tone, the overehead lights 'lead' you down walkway.
I agree the second shot is wonderful. Do you have anymore from the subway?
I like them both... first one reminds me of a spot on the 7 train in Woodside and makes me long to come home to New York, love the black/white and the sharpness. Second one is more artistic, like the tint and the lights... wish that fence wasn't there on the left side though (obviously nothing you can do about that) Very cool man!
The second picture was the best of the set so I don't have any others worth sharing but I'm surprised at all the positive feedback I've been getting from it - here and otherwise.
Thanks guys. |
Like them both, LOVE the subway platform. Something about the warmth and tone of it that just gets me, on what is typically thought of as a cold and sterile place.
Subway platform pic is awesome man! Chassis has it right, the tone is very warm.
I love them both. Both are very evocative. I love the stillness of the subway platform. It's a little off-putting...creepy. :)
I like the platform shot. The one thing I wish I could change is the lights. I wish they were in the middle. I know that's nothing you have control over, but I just can't help but wanting them to run down the center of the platform.
I am a visitor to the big city shots and I think you did a very nice job on each of them!!
