Trip to Tampa

Took my daughter to Tampa to get some mice (they are adorable, pics of them later ) and I took a little side junket to Ybor City to take some photographs. I experimented a little - I wanted to use more spontaneity and take the photos fast - spur of the moment - rather than dwelling on compostion like I usually do. I also found myself drawn to glass. I really like some of them, but they may not be that much to look at for someone else, lol. But here they are:

Yes, that is a pink phurry phallis. :P

These were at the SPCA where she got the mouse...and yes, I was sitting on the toilet in the first one. I was, uh, peeing and the colors just struck me as nice.

Thanks, Ren!

And, Jazz, you know you're right. I knew there was something sexy about that guy.

Thanks!

It is on the main drag in Ybor City, as well as the sex shop, the tattoo parlors, the restaurants and an incredible vintage clothing store.

I love that strip.

I think I need to pay a visit there over my Winter Break- i mean, I am on break now, but goals are always nice, and so is not going for broke.

Lovely.

Thanks, ya'll.

Jetee, yes you should, it's a lovely place to spend a weekend.

And thank you, jenna, I actually tweaked the colors and the contrast on that one quite a bit. Like, a lot, heh. But I liked the intense color it gave to the brick contrasted with the reflection of the sky in the windows. Glad you see it, too.

I know you know what you're talking about, fredweena. It was great to get out of the relatively sterile consistency of Orlando and photograph some true funkyness for a change. I'd like to go back again soon.

I like them MM...as usual. Some of them are lacking composition, but yo prefaced with that, so it's all good.

I love the reflections in some of the windows, especially the 3rd and 6th one. I also love the pin-up girls...very you.

Thank you, shesus. Yes, this was an exercise in un-composition, lol. But aside from some of them being a little crooked (I find I have to really concentrate to keep my shots from being crooked - must be my crooked head, lol) I kind of like that for a change.

I have the same problem. It seems every picture I take is crooked. Maybe that's just a result of our coolness.
