Road Trip, Photographic Beginnings
Here are some pictures I took while moving from VA to CA this summer - obviously there were some detours. I know that some of the pictures are kind of cliched, but I'd never taken them before, so there was some value in figuring out how to do it. Also, I have virtually no post-processing skills. All that aside, comments and constructive criticism are welcome. There's not other way to learn, right?
A member of the Very Large Array in NM: Afternoon sky at Petrified Forest National Park, AZ: Zabriskie Point, at Death Valley National Park, CA: Coastal Highway, South of San Francisco as the clouds were burning off, CA: Golden Gate Bridge,CA: Redwood National Park, CA: A very small part of Broken Top Mountain, OR: Dee Wright Observatory, OR - Inside: ...Outside. This I lit with the "flash" from my cell phone. I wish I had brought a flash light in the car. Also, check out the Big Dipper. Crater Lake National Park, OR:

I love the skies out here. Nice shots, too. Cliched or not, it's all about how they're captured, and you captured them well.

I seem to be drooling all over your pics as well as the JumpinShesuses... I can't get enough of the West. Beautiful shots... the CA coast has always been my #1 road trip (combined with OR and WA coast... hope you can get up there sometime, too!)

Hey, I have that first photo too! Please say that you went to Pie Town, NM. It was the next stop on the road about 45 miles away. That is my favorite town, when the pie shops are actually open.
I love the skies out here, they make every photo look that much better! You've given me a preview of our trip next week...the redwoods, San Fransisco, and the coastal highway. Great pictures!
