Honest Camera Review?
For the most part I like to test the product before buying, but with a camera you don't always have the option of capturing a sunset, ball game, wild party or a cloudy day at the store.
So what I'm looking for is a reliable, yet impartial camera review source online. I've been searching sites and they all seem to more or less be of the two schools of review. The first just copies and pastes the box/manual/web site of the manufacturer. The second has a glowing review of every product ever tested so as to ensure they keep getting their free stuff. Is there such a site that reviews many, many cameras, yet isn't a cut and paste or a "in the pocker" site? Thanks. |

One of the best sites is dpreview. Long and detailed reviews, sample shots, all that jazz. Probably won't find a better site.

I'm a PopPhoto reader. They actually test out the cameras, they're very thorough and they archive most of their 'test runs', so you can find something about a camera that's been out a while.

Dpreview has some very thorough tests. http://www.dcresource.com is another good one. http://www.steves-digicams.com are usually first out with new reviews, although I often feel their conclusions are a bit too positive. I mostly use the full res sample pictures to compare with other cameras from that site.
