How in the heck do you take a picture like this?

This is a pretty neat looking piece of computer wall paper and I for the life of me can't figure out how you would take a picture like that.

Any thoughts to help my poor confused mind?

/I know this isn't necessarily my own work, but it's a photography question. Please move it if it's in the wrong place or you know, delete it if you have to.

Logic would tell me to take a high-res pic after moving the monitor and adjusting the colorization to match the walls exactly from monitor to real wall. wonder if I could try....

Yeah, after thinking about it for a while I figured you'd have to get a dead-on-middle-of-the-screen picture that's fairly hi-resolution, take the picture, and all you would need to do is center it on the screen so that it matches up with the wall.

Pretty cool looking effect, though.

Exactly. Notice in your picture that the right of the screen shows the back of the eMac. I had the same desktop for years at home. Set up a camera and move your comp. You get a few laughs at first, but it eventually becomes just another desktop.

Check out Transparent Screens - a photoset on Flickr for a bunch more examples. Some of these people are insane.

If you wanted to cheat, you could take a wide angle hi res shot of that corner, then just crop it down to that area behind the monitor later.

i did that to my one computer, i just sat down and found my average sitting spot, then i took a picture from there and cropped it to fit the screen... after i did that, i changed spots and made the perspective of the shot match the view from outside the room, soo when people came in, they would beable to get the effect.
