Flowers
I took some pictures of flowers in the spring this year. Many were just snapshots, but there were a few I thought I'd put up for critique as pictures in their own right. Don't know much about photography, so I'm open to any suggestions. I've not followed the rule of thirds very well here, but in most cases, the subject had to fill the frame to cut out clutter in the background.
If anybody likes these, there are more, but those are all over the imageshack size limit, so I'll have to find another host or resize them or somesuch. http://img46.imageshack.us/img46/242...00096wd.th.jpg http://img134.imageshack.us/img134/1...00112ln.th.jpg http://img135.imageshack.us/img135/7...00155wm.th.jpg http://img134.imageshack.us/img134/4...00168yo.th.jpg http://img135.imageshack.us/img135/6...00308mw.th.jpg http://img46.imageshack.us/img46/535...00559xm.th.jpg http://img135.imageshack.us/img135/6...00573ll.th.jpg http://img134.imageshack.us/img134/2...00587lg.th.jpg http://img46.imageshack.us/img46/637...00609ao.th.jpg |
Some very vibrant colors. I especially like the deep purple crocus? Can't go wrong with flowers and sunsets and little kids and pets : )

I wouldn't worry about the rule of thirds here. With macro work the subject takes up most of the frame, so that rule can be bent or broken. Besides, the rules are more like guidelines anyways. lol.
Nicely done. A few I would have gone for a shallower DOF, and maybe more dramatic lighting, but they aren't bad. :) |
