Question: "Guaranteeing" the sex of your baby - Tilted Forum Project Discussion Community

This may be kind of a controversial question, but here goes....

Does anybody know where I can find information on how to increase the chances of conceiving a boy or a girl?

My wife and I have 3 wonderful boys and would like to have 1 more before closing that chapter of our lives. Although we would be thrilled to have another boy (especially if he turns out like the other 3), but we are both hopeful that we could experience having a daughter as well.

I don't expect to get responses that are too specific or would rival some of the Titty Board posts. If anyone knows of a book or any other info source, please pass it along. I know there are a few web sites that charge you for such info, but I don't know if I could trust them. Are there any trustworthy sites for this?

My wife and her friends sat down and tested this out, far as I remember it was pretty accurate.

This worked for me and the wife and several friends. Not the fancy worksheet that the nurse gave us, but it has proven to increase the odds of concieving the gender you wish.

Boys:
Baking soda douche
Deep penetration (Doggy Style)
Female orgasm

Girls:
Vinegar Douche
Shallow penetration
No female orgasm.

Principle:
The PH of the vagina has an impact on the lil' swimmers. Boy swimmers prefer a base environment and girls prefer an acid environment.

I have heard that the womans diet can also help. Never tried it.

but smoking pot is well documented to increase the chances of having a girl.

Seems the THC gets all the little boy spermies chasing their tails or something

You can try it, but many are myths or theories. It doesn't hurt to give it a shot, though. Just don't be surprised or not prepared if you get the opposite of what you want.

Thanks for the link. However, according to the chart, I should have 3 daughters instead of 3 sons. Perhaps we’ll try the opposite of what the chart says this time.

Thanks for the advice, but how would a female an orgasm or not help the gender process? Just curious…..not trying to argue.

Personally, I doubt that it does, but it does affect fertility. A woman's orgasm affects the position of the cervix and causes it to dip more into the semen. There's more chance of conceiving at all if the woman orgasms. Not sure why it would provide an advantage of male over female though.

The PH level of the vagina changes as she releases her fluids.

Y sperm (boys) swim faster but dont have as much endurence. So By going Doggy style the passage from vagina to ovum i shorter giving the Y sperm more of a chance of making it first. X sperm (girls) swim slower but survive longer so the longer the trip the higher the chance of concieving a girl. Missionary style would therefor increase the chances of concieving a girl.

Just got the book that was suggested by Wonderwench above called "Baby Girl or Baby Boy: Determining the Sex of Your Child Explained in Plain and Simple Language". Basically, it gives the same technique that Boo gave above. It also suggests that for making a girl that the man should reduce his sperm count. This means lots of sex just before trying for conception. I think I really like this book

. I'll let everyone know how things work out (probably in about a year or so).

I have looked out of curiousity, but I have never seen any properly controlled studies investigating methods to influence the sex of your child.

My wife tried it all & I have 2 boys, never got the girl. The only real way is to pay between $5,000-$10,000 and have a doctor seperate the male sperm from the female sperm & then inseminate your wife with just the female sperm.

Every guy I know that partakes in a little cheeba had boys. Not one girl.

"Washing" or Microsort. Neither is especially cheap. Short of adoption, that's as close as you're going to get to a guarantee....

I don't know how accurate that Chinese method / link thing is though for myself, it predicted me correct. My brother would have been a girl by that list but then again, he was born on the 2nd of the month and thus is very very borderline (and indeed, the borderilne was B/G and the doctors at first thought he was a girl through the scans)

Keep in mind the age of when the mother concieved the child, not when the mother gave birth.. oh and IIRC that is by lunar calendar months.. and if so.. it would be accurate for me and my brother

I was told it was not as much a matter of what position, but that it is what time of the month. Apperently the egg travels around some and when it is closer the boy sperm is faster so it gets there first. but when the egg is farther away the girl sperm makes it cause they can travel further. therefore if you know where the egg is located at what time you can know what you are getting. or so it was told to me, I am paraphrasing here.

Here is what worked for a guy I know. He and his wife had had 2 girls and they wanted a boy. So they were were instructed that in order to have a girl, the woman's cycle should be meticulously plotted out and they should have relations at the time of ovulation.

To have a boy, they should just have relations whenever the urge hit them.

He said that he and his wife had a boy, and they haven't been allowed back in the Baskin-Robbins since.

I've tried it all! I have 2 boys. We said one more try and that way we'll still fit in a normal car. We keep our fingers crossed for that girl, but did we get a girl? NO, double wammy, TWO BOYS! Two in one shot, what are the odds. Would love to have a little girl, but I don't think I can push my luck any further. I may end up with that third wammy. We talked about the sex selection from the fertility clinics, but I don't want to have to drive my family around in a bus!

NEWS UPDATE:

Well, we tried the method in the book mentioned above, and.......
....we are due at the end of June. (collective cheering sound)

Now I would like to be able to tell you if the book worked or not after the ultrasound, but my wife and I agreed to keep it a surprise until the birth. (collective groans)

So...I won't be posting the results for about 5 months. Hey....at least it didn't take forever to get pregnant. Come back in June! (applause)

There was actually a BBC documentary that I saw on this a couple of months ago, and the conclusion of the scientist commentating that the chances of affecting the outcome are ***tiny***. You are almost better off choosing the sex by tossing a die because it will have the same amount of impact on the outcome.

CONGRATULATIONS!!!!!!!!!!!!!

My husband and I had both said we wanted a little girl before we got pregnant. We welcomed our first child into the world back in March. A beautiful little boy who we LOVE to death.
That's cool you finally got your little girl. My husband wants a little girl too, he wants a daddy's girl so hopefully yours will be too and you can spoil her rotten!

Hopefully whatever method we try for our next will work and we'll get our little girl!!!!
