So, it would appear that the method suggested in the book Baby Girl or Baby Boy: Determining the Sex of Your Child Explained in Plain and Simple Language" may have some merit.

Thanks all for your help! I think I'll go and hold my new DAUGHTER (I don't think I'll ever get used to saying that).
