What Baby Einstein are you watching right now?

Ok, Those of you with kids know the absolute genius of the Baby Einstein series of videos/DVD's. I searched Baby Einstein before I wrote this to see what the general concensus was about these. Everyone thinks they're swell. I only have 3 for my 18 MO boy and he loves them all. It seems you can buy them in bulk on eBay. I may do that.

As I type this, Baby Galileo churns in the background. My boy, home from visiting grandpa, was wound up tight and is now relaxing into a late afternoon.

I have another 20 minutes that I can catch up on email and a few forums.

My boy started screaming at the television when we put the Baby Mozart tape on; for some reason, it really upset him. We haven't tried any more of them since then.

The Baby Einsteen series wasn't around when my kids were little. Lebell's and mine (due June 4) will have to be our experiment on this one. I understand, however, that they are a must have!

My kid watches Baby Einstein videos. That's because we're expecting her to be a child prodigy who discovers some cure a terrible disease, such as avian influenza, for example, thereby making her and us millionaires. It's progressive thinking, if you ask me, and I lay it all in the hands of Baby Einstein...

With the combination of Netflix and a DVD burner, we've aquired a lot of the series. Our almost 5 month old girl loves them but she rarely watches them. My wife is very anti TV for our daughter so she almost never watches TV.

Yep, we used baby Einstein, baby Bach, and Baby Mozart. Everything in this series is great.

However, when she got old enough to talk, we restricted her TV consumption to only German videos. We wanted her to learn German from day one (her mom is from Germany). So we ordered several classic kids videos from Germany.

But she loved the Baby __ videos. She still remembers the music from most of them.

My boys got bored of Baby Einstein series very quickly. My 4 yr old has gone from Blue's Clues to Leap Frog (Letter/Word Factory), Magic Schoolbus to now Jimmy Neutron.

Something that always bothers me on Blue's Clues: the cat talks, the mailbox talks, the salt and pepper shakers talk, but none of the dogs can talk? Not just Blue, but I've seen at least Magenta and Green, and none of them can talk. What's up with that?

Some of the newer Blues Clues have a puppet show part at the end where all the dogs talk.

Anyways, my daughter (2) is partial to Baby Da Vinci (the body parts one) and Baby Van Gogh (colors). She was wild about the "World Animals" one for like 3 months.

But her alltime favorite video now is the They Might Be Giants "Here Come the ABC's" DVD. She watches it all the time and her alphabet skills are markedly improved.

I'm sure anyone here would agree that B.E. is just a small part of their kids day. My boy goes non-stop till he drops and B.E. is just a nice way to relax.

Baby Mozart is a favorite of my 11 month daughter. She's a big fan of Dora, too. Never too early for them to learn other languages.

My daughter loves, absolutely loves, the Baby Einstein videos. And daddy likes it when the woman who owns the company comes on the screen at the end of each video ;-)

Anyway, here's a helpful hint to those of you who would like to get more of these, but don't want to spend the cash it would take. EBAY. You can buy lots of them there for almost nothing. We have almost all of them, my daughter loves them and we didn't have to pay full price.
