Evenflo Natural Comfort Pacifiers

I was wondering if you good folks at TFP Parenting could help me.
My 12 month old uses a specific pacifier that we used to buy at Wal-Mart, but that has been discontinued for a long time now. As a result we're down to the last two and we're in need of replacement.
The one we use is called the Evenflo Natural Comfort Pacifier.
I've just been on the internet looking at the Evenflo webpage, and even went to Ebay to see if I could find some. No luck.
Does anyone know of any way, online or through mail, that I could get a hold of one of these elusive pacifiers?
* I should mention that I'm in Canada, and that has been a bit of a problem. I went to one on-line baby store that did have them, but didnt do international orders...

Any help would be appreciated.

And just for my knowledge, how long should a kid have a pacifier? I know my wife is weaning my daughter right now, but that will take a while...

My daughter is almost 21 months old and she still uses one when she's tired. We don't let her use it when she just wakes up or during the day, but it still helps to calm her for naps or to sleep overnight.

My niece still uses hers for naps. She'll be 3 in March. I'm not sure if she'll have it until then, but she's still using it now.

But yup, you'll need a new one Unless you just want to ween her from it, but be prepared for one bitchy baby!

I was able to search the web and find a few sites that sell that type of pacifier, however, they all say that the type of pacifier you are looking for is for newborn to 3 month old. I've had to change pacifier size for my son a couple of times now. Do they make that pacifier in a bigger size?

I thought I saw a few different sizes. But the one I'm speaking of is quite big. It could last for a year or more I figure...
I have a friend who's going to Virginia at Christmas. So I'm going to order one from the internet, send it to Virginia, and my friend is going to pick it up and bring it home. Now, back to the internet I go...

Those look just like the NUK nipples my daughter uses.

It is supposed to mimic the shape of a nipple being sucked, instead of the shape before being sucked. Supposed to help with severe oral motor dysfunction, and also be orthodontically benficial? J8earette jr just loves 'em.

NUK nipples come in a variety of sizes and flow rates (for the bottle tops) and are available in pacifier and bottle top varieties.

I've seen them everywhere I've looked for baby gear.

Forgot to add...they're made by gerber.

My aunt is a speech therapists and she says the only nipples and pacifiers(binkys in our house) you should use are Nuk. Now I don't follow this rule, but thought I would give the input.

Our little guy became disinterested in the soother when he was about 5 months old. Before that, it was only used in emergencies.

Every family has a strategy or belief about pacifier usage -- ours was "don't rely on them!"

If you want to order from the internet and have them shipped to my house, I would gladly ship them to you in canada. I have paypal so you could send me the shipping fees after you receive them. This way we would both be trusting each other, no foul play here.

I live in columbus OH so shipping to canada can either be very good or very bad depending on where you are.

PM me if you want to go ahead with it.

Thanks!

Mike

Mike,
You're the coolest. I appreciate your effort. However, connections have been made between myself an the sister of a friend living in Fayetteville North Carolina. Thank you very much for your help, however. It's just further proof that residents of Ohio, although dim and generally slow witted, are good souls at heart. <--- yes I did that, and I'm a guy.

My kids and most of my friends kids used Nuk soothers that we bought in Canada. I think London Drugs sells them. That was eight years ago, but I'm sure they would still sell them.

I had to deal with this same situation when my daughter was about 5 months old. By that age she picked her favorite 'passy' and it was the only one on the face of the planet. It was a 6-9 mo. Playtex butterfly style that must have been discontinued. I couldn't find that size anywhere, they had smaller ones everywhere, but being born at 9lbs. 5oz. and 16 lbs. at three months (first intro to said passy) she wouldn't take the smaller ones.

We were sitting on the porch one day at my moms, and she dropped it, so my mom stuck it in her mouth to 'wash' it off and the thing grew in her mouth!! The nipple had worn and part of it split to allow the inner softer area to expand in my moms mouth!! Needless to say, we couldn't give it back to her, and she wouldn't take anything else, so we clipped it!! took the top 1/4 (where the damage was) and cut it right off! They say is't a good way to wean them from a passy, so I tried it! She never took it again, and could have cared less we didn't have a replacement, I was shocked! Never had to deal with a mad fussy baby about it....ya never know until you try!

Our second girl never even got interested, and the one that's in the oven (I know I have said this way to many times today while posting..haha) probibly won't have one either!!

I'm glad you found what you were looking for though! I just had to share! And always check babys' passy every once in a while and make sure it doesn't 'blowup' in your mouth while sucking!!

edit: silly spelling!
