How much is too much?
So my daughter is 7 and is this incredible athlete. How much should I "encourage" her. Some of these kids have personal pitching coaches and batting coaches...is it too much? She does great on her own.

Let her set her own pace. That usually works unless they are trying to please you too much. Kids are growing, their bones and joints are still growing and forming. They are essentially like plastic and can bend, at the growth plates, and grow abnormally if too much pressure is too often.

I would guess that your daughter is pitching softball. The mechanics of a softball pitch are VERY[U] different than a baseball pitch. If she wants to pitch, have her learn correctly. It will decrease the chances of injury later. Also, if she learns wrong now, it will be harder to correct later. Same thing for batting.

I think that you should let her do it as long as she likes. Support her and watch the games and if she wants you to, coach her. Don't force if she decides she's done. My father forced me to keep playing baseball until long after I said I was finished. It made a very ugly situation and to this day, I don't like baseball.

There's no pressure from us..if she wants to play great..if not that's fine too. She plays many sports but softball is her favorite. Thanks!

make sure she wants to go to the camp first, if not it may ruin the game for her.
This happened to me several years ago when my parents sent me to an intensive camp that i didnt want to go to. For wrestling though, not softball |

No ~s~ never. She totally loves it right now. And as long as she does it's fine. If that changes then she's free to quit with no problem from me or her dad.
