80% of statistics are made up on the spot, this is one of those common assossiation things, like think of a jungle animal - quick...... a lot of people will say "lion" lions don't even live in the jungle. For the record red spanner (so half right) and potato
although if i had to guess what most people would say, i would have said carrot |

This is the answer! We all all somewhat skewed and beyond the normal. Don't believe ? How many normal people have you seen writing in the TFP? My Result? A somewhat orangey shade of pink coloured post hole digger and a well roasted butternut pumpkin. |

Thought of a red spanner (wrench) and a green Aubergine. (???!!!)
I think i'm part of the 98%, its just that my maths is shit. And so is my vegetable recognition. (And typing, but I edited that out before you had a chance to comment...)

Its my understanding that this type of exercise is all about what areas of the brain you are using by doing the math problems. Its called a priming effect and, essentially, what is going on is that the neurons around the areas of the brain functioning during the math fire and prime the neurons around the area of the mind where other items are stored. One theory, I heard about this specific exercise is that the color red, the tool hammer, and the vegetable carrot tend to be the first specific item you learn as a child in their respective categories and that the math is meant to either prime the area associated to the earlier learning or to break down any thoughts in your day to day life that might otherwise pop up to biased the exercise (like if I used a screwdriver several hours before reading the quiz).
Oh yeah, I was 2% and 98%. I said squash on the second one, but I think thats cause its getting close to Halloween and I see them all over.

holy crap, I did the calculations as fast as possible and it was like "think of a color and a tool"
the VERY first thing that popped in my mind was a wall painted red and a claw hammer. RED HAMMER scrolled down to read "red hammer" I am in awe..........

the more I think about this, the more weird it seems. I honestly thought of RED and HAMMER at the same time. This is just freaky. I wonder why it didn't work for the rest of you guys?
