Anyone's kids in gymnastics?

If they are, let us know how they are doing. We're right in the middle of the season now.

My 10 year old is a boys Class 6. So far he's doing pretty darn good, taken 4th all around twice at smaller meets and 8th at a really huge meet. We've got 3 more meets to go.

I dont have any kids yet but when I do they are going into gymnastics when they turn 2. Being an ex coach the benefits of gymnastics are astounding.

My daughters are both gymnist. Don't you just love it!?

This is my 10-year-olds second season competing at level 4. She scored 7th all around in her last meet. Not bad as she is not a natural and has to work very hard at every skill. (But she loves it and does this on her own -- not with any pushing.)

My 8-year-old just competed in her first meet. She got very nervous and didn't do well; but she got up and tried and to me that is what counts.

Enrolled my child last fall in The Little Gym. Now he's taking a Sports Skills class, incorporating ball techniques along with gymnastics. He loves it, but flutters around everywhere.

My 6 yr old started in gymnastics then after the gymn we were going to closed, we enrolled her in tumbling... from what i understand it is almost the same as gymnastics except there are no bars or beam... one gripe about gymnastics is the amount of workout time it takes to train (3 or 4 hours a day/5 days a week)... on the other hand, tumbling only takes half of that to train...
btw... my daughter loves it...

Just an fyi -- my daughters compete and only practice 3 hours twice a week. Shop for a gym that keeps it realistic.

My son just competed in the Arnold Classic, and did okay. I think the lack of sleep affected him. Sleeping in a strange bed didn't help either. He's got states in 2 weeks.

Yesterday my eldest scored a 9.3 on vault and 10th all around.

My youngest scored 8.7 ov vault.

I'm a proud mommy.

Just got back from our state meet in Cincinnati, long crappy drive. Kyle did okay, the first two events he seemed to not have his head on straight, but the other four were okay. He didn't place all around, but placed in the top 10 in all but the pommel and rings, which are his strongest ones, go figure?
