Pornstars as parents
Anyone know any porn stars that are parents? I just get the feeling that if a kids parent did something like that for a living it might have some severe repercussions later. I know Jenna Jameson was thinking about having kids with her husband, but imagine how the kid would feel. I can see him sitting in class and the kid in front of him turning to him and saying, "I saw your mom in a porn last night, she really knows how to give head. She also took it up the ass a lot, does her butt ever hurt from all that?"

It isn't the same thing as a porn star, by any means, but the woman who wrote the best selling parenting book series "The Girlfriends Guide to... " was in Playboy. She mentions it in the introduction to the book, but doesn't really talk about "repercussions."

A number of porn stars leave the business to live normal 9-5 lives.
A number of them also live within the business. Doesn't anyone see the young son in Family Business on SHO? IMO it's all about the fact of how you give values to your children.

I'm guessing that a kid with a mom that was or is a pornstar would have a pretty bad life growing up. Think about all the abuse from other kids. Or imagine the mom and the kid walking in the mall or whatever, some guy stops, pulls out a copy of her latest porno, and asks her to sign it. How embarrasing that would be for the poor kid.

you're assuming that there is shame in what they have done, or you are implying or projecting shame upon the profession.
we all make mistakes, we regret some of them, we learn from some of them, and we are ashamed of some of them. as parents teach their children values, they teach them how to deal with mistakes and what to be ashamed about. if our culture is a desert (which many might argue is the case), then our values and morals are like sand... they shift and change with the wind. the subltle side of this issue is how you deal with the issue of exploitation. when we realize we have been exploited, we all feel hurt and shamed. do you think cristine hefner is ashamed of her dad? nope, she now runs the business. i would venture empowered porn stars who are in control of their careers have triumphed over their own purient values wrestling match and come out the other side confident in their choices. they will pass that liberal mindset along to their progeny and most likely have as good of a chance at being a good parent as any of us who hide our desires and vices and live less openly. i suggest that our world would be a better place if we all raised our children without shame, and sought to teach them understanding and acceptance instead. it is possibly the only real path to peace.

If was going to be a pornstar I wouldn't have children. And that would be my personal choice. I'm not going to be a porn star, but I'm already leaning to the point of not wanting children ever just because I have no patience and have enough trouble taking care of myself.
Now, if a porn star and their wife/husband get divorced, do you know if there are legal actions the non-pornstaresque parent could take to get full custody of their children from the marriage? I'm kind of intrigued by the law and how the justice system works. Going into Forensic Science I find the criminal justice system and law interesting and I've met a few strippers/erotica actresses in that situation but never found out what happened when their ex's tried to get custody.

It's funny to me that most replies mention a mother/child relationship. Why is that? Is it because whatever "shame" might be contained in porn can only be associated with female performers? Male pornstars may want kids, too. In fact, doesn't Rocco Siffredi (sp?), the king of ass play, have a kid?
If the decision to be in porn is voluntary and the career is handled responsibly, leaving the individual both physically and mentally healthy, I would see no problem with said individual wanting kids. Fuck what others think. A responsable, level-headed ex-pornstar would make a better parent than a lot of child beaters out there not associated with the sex industry. Furthermore, I would hope said parent would have the good sense to prep their kids on what's coming at school (teasing, etc.), so that retarded statements like: "Hey, I saw your mom getting fucked hard on one of my folks' DVDs last night" could be countered with: "Yeah? Was she wearing a red skirt and Sketchers in the beginning? 'Cuz that's when I was conceived! It's a Christmas miracle!"

i was surprised to find that showtime has a show called 'family business' - a reality program that focuses on the life and times of one time porn star turned major porn distributor 'seymour butts.' his real name is adam, and he is a single father to a young son. his mom and his uncle (or some such) also work in his business of creating and distributing 'seymour butts' branded adult entertainment.
on the episode i watched, he clearly cares for his son a great deal and tries to be the best parent possible. but he has obvious challenges.

I actually heard an interview with the couple from www.ideepthroat.com (Heather and her husband) about this exact topic. I'm not sure what to think about their views, but take a listen for yourself and let us know what you think about what they said.

I would imagine that once the porn star's child's friends got word that their parents were really a porn star, it would make the child's life a little harder. Altho, if the child were a guy, and the porn star were his mom, it would make for interesting sleepover conversation, either that or they would all be trying to bang your mom. And the milf jokes... unbearable.

I had a teacher who was in a Girls Gone Wild video (Spring Break edition, I think...I never saw it, so I don't know). The word spread, and she ended up leaving at the end of that semester because of continuously being haunted byt the one appearance where she flashed the camera. She has no child, but is engaged. With all that said, it would have to be harder for a child to put up with that pressure. Afterall, kids are much less mature and much more willing to say mean things...plus, the kid didn't do anything, so imagine how he/she would feel for being outcasted by many of the kids at school for something his/her mom did. To think, that's just for flashing a camera. Imagine the hell that would ensue for the kid if the mother was in the porn business. The child could potentially be furious everytime someone does something as simple as a "yo mama" joke; I know I would. With everything said, I truely think that pornstars can be parents, they would just have to be prepared to protect and inform the child of what they can expect. It would be a shame that the child would be teased and pestered to no end about it though.
