9 dollars

A father came home and his son met him at the door.

"Dad, how much money do you make an hour"

the dad stared down at his son, tired from a long day at work and said.

"20 dollars and hour, why"

the son looked up and asked " can i have 9 dollars"

the father was upset.. how dare he ask for money.. i provide him with ever thing yet still he askes for money. he told his son to go to his room and think about what he asked.

later after dinner was over the father went into his sons room after thinking and feeling a little bad over it all.

"son are you asleep yet?"

"no dad not yet"

"well ive been thinking it over and well 9 bucks isnt that bad so here." the father handed out 9 dollars to his son.

the son pulled up his pillow and there was a wad of cash. the father once again became angery...

"son why did you need 9 bucks when you got all that money there"

the son replied

"well dad, i needed just 9 dollars so i could make 20 dollars. That way i could buy and hour of your time"

I thought that was neat when i got it in an email.. as a working father with three children i often over look the simple things when i come in after a day of working. made me sit back and look at the big picture..

My father was a truck driver all my years at home. I never saw him much but on the weekends and that was when he was awake.. now that we are older we work together on a concrete buisness. makes me wish he could have stayed home more often.

so i'd say the biggest thing you can do for your child/children.. is be there for them.

Don't allow him a breath. Crush him. Cut him without mercy to the depth of his spirit. It is the balance to life: death. It is the dance with death. It is the law a war wizard lives by, or he dies.

What our children want more than anything is time with us! We are their most precious commodity. Good reminder -- thanks!
