Your children? Ages, how many.........
How old and how many kids do you have? What's their personality like?
Young or out of the house, share all! I have a son who will by 4 on Feb. 17. Andrew (Drew- after Drew Carrey, the comedian, because somehow we knew he'd have a comedic flair, plus Andrew means Manly and he's all boy!) Fox (took it from XFiles, Fox Mulder). He has an overabundance of energy and always makes us laugh. He takes after daddy, enjoying video games, and watching super hero movies and Star Wars. He is persistant, confident, outgoing, lovey, and full of life. And very smart. I have an 8, almost 9-yr-old stepdaughter as well. Eva (named after the anime Neon Genesis) Illyana. She is quiet around strangers, yet rambling when she's around loved ones. Full of energy, as well. Full of love and she is constantly reading. She has read all the Harry Potter books, and is reading 20,000 Leagues Under The Sea, just to name some. I met her when she was almost 3- can't beleive it's been almost 6 years. She is smart and beautiful and I love her so much. |
We have one 3 1/2 yr old Laura. She had light blonde, fine, straight hair. She has so much energy and is fearless. She will chat up anyone in the store and has made me new friends even. She will climb on anything, try anything, and isn't even afraid of Mom leaving her at a sitter for the evening when Mom needs time out.
I'm a STHM and watch several other children through the day. Those children are in the 2 and 3 age rage mostly. It can get pretty crazy here. |
I'm a full time single dad of the two most incredible people on the face of the planet.
Kelsie is 10 and she has yet to meet a stranger. She started talking at a relatively young age, and hasn't stopped yet. She decided when she was 4 that she was going to train dolphins when she grows up, and has not ever waivered from that decision. Kelsie is definitely her Daddy's girl and has a tremendous amount of compassion for others. Cj is 8 and is boy through and through. He is outside every chance he gets. He enjoys most sports, collecting bugs, snakes and worms. He wants to drive monster trucks when he grows up. Cj attacks things with a passion that is not found in many people. |
We have three-
Maya Raven is now 4 yrs. and a gymnast at heart, big sister and guardian of her brother. Named after Maya Angelou and her totem animal "the raven". Sagan Draigh in 2 yrs. and way too smart for his time in air. Loves his new little sister, and dino's. Named after Carl Sagan, and his totem dragon. Anya Wren was just born on Jan 8th. Smiley and active, Named after Anastasia Romanov and her totem animal. |
H. E. knew that was what she wanted to be named and E. because that is her grandma's middle name. She is a gymnast, starting to compete in two weeks. She is in a duel language classroom, being taught in Spanish 75% of the time and picking it up so quickly it amazes me. She is our little tigger.
B.A. is 10 years. B, because all of us (3 brothers, dad, and I) had to agree on her name and that is the one we liked. A. after her grandmother who passed when she was 6 weeks old. B. is also a gymnast. She is also a violin player. She is serious and intelligent. She loves school and family. B.J. is 18 years. He is so named because my dad always wanted a J.B.. When I had him single I thought it was a nice way to honor my dad to name him the name he always wanted (I have 3 sisters.) He is a senior in high school, extremely intelligent, gothe (not according to him), and a computer geek. J.E., 22 year-old former step-son, now chosen son and I'm his chosen mom. He just applied to the Air Force Academy after serving 6 months in Afghanistan and hopes to learn to fly. J.R., 22 year-old twin brother of J.A. and also chosen son. He is also in the Air Force, the father of one, and thrilled that he'll be out of the service in a year. He plans to become a mechanic. |
I have a little boy Devlin hes 7 years old going to be 8 March 18th. He loves drawing and colouring. Playing outside riding his bike and he is still learning to rollerblade, very frightening on that part cause like his father hes very accident prone...lol
He loves playing with his best friend Arron and his dads girlfriend's little boy Dylen who he calls his best friend at his dads house.. I just think its so cute. Hes got a very loveable personality and just loves mushing up to me. Hes always given me hugs and kisses and telling me he loves me. He isnt shy at all atleast not around any of the people I know that hes meeting for the first time. Very out going as well. I just wish he wasnt such a handful. Hes got so much engergy that hes worse then the engergizer bunny. |
[sappy]
*sniff* sorry, guys.. just got a little misty-eyed there. We're due (#1!) in five weeks, and though I only have the slightest inkling of what i'm in for, the passion with which you speak of your children is inspiring. [/sappy] Also, I need good name ideas! *laugh* |

these are some of the names we didnt use. boy: Terran Ashe Rowan Brighton Girl: Indigo Myst Coral ysabelle I know, wierd names....at least we didnt use"Spackle" |
Got 2, a little girl and a little boy.
Morgan just turned 3 at the end of December and I think she will be turning 13 next year. She has such a commanding personality its funny. She takes control of any situation and usually leads kids twice her age in activities. Gage will be 1 in March. He is all boy and already only weighs 5lbs less than his sister. He is easily stronger than her. He can stand but refuses to walk because he can get around quicker by crawling. He is very outgoing and just loves attention. If he is anything like his sister we are really going to have our hands full in another year oir so. |

our son Riley is 11...........A's+B's so far "again" this year, somewhat shy but a good kid all in all.
our daughter Jadeyn is almost 8.........and she is so totally like her dad that i know i'm in trouble already.all her cousins are older boys and she is a total tomboy. she's like her mother in that, she doesn't take shit from anyone. *heads off to hug his kids* |
I've got 4
Kyle, 10. He's just like me while I was growing up. Kayla, 7. She acts just like my wife did growing up, so she tells me. Khristoper, 4. He'll be five in april, and he acts just like I do now. Kirsten, 18 months. She looks exactly like kayla did at the same age, we've compared pictures, it's amazing. |
Unfortunately I only have access to my nine, soon to be ten year old boy (Sean) every second weekend due to divorce, but hey, that's life.
I was fortunate however to have him 24/7 for the last three weeks of the holidays so that rocked. He is a bright guy and has improved plenty over the last year at school,so that pleases me no end. His mother takes a hardline approach with him and whilst there is not a lot I can do due to the traveling distance between us,he is now starting to stand up for himself and question her nastiness. I am working on it as well with a straight down the line attitude and well,I can only keep plodding. He loves coming here each time and it is treated like an adventure cause we do all the stuff that he isn't allowed to do at "home". Best of all he likes my music tastes and plays it up full boar at "home",much to the disgust of the ex. But hey, that's life I guess. |
Just one so far:
Caleb Glen. Seven months old. He likes sitting on the floor, pulling the cats tail, eating applesauce, taking baths and pooing! He is the happiest and most beautiful person I know. |

If I were to have another child and it was a girl, I would name her Julia Raine A boy- Carter (but I think my bro-in-law and his wife are using that), or: Quote:
I also like Ty, but not the full name of Tyson. The best thing to do is look up the meanings of the names as well and see if they feel suitable. I chose Andrew (Drew for short) because it means Manly and I knew this kid was sure to be all-boy......and all boy he is! And Andrew/Drew sounds beautiful. |
I have three "children":
Brenna, almost 21, girl genius and troubador extrordinaire. Aspiring chef or rock star. Lives with me, works full time, sings at the local open mike night. Caitlin, 18, aspiring forensic pathologist or FBI agent, prolific writer, and genuine psychic. Currently living with her mother in NC, but soon to be back with me. Noah, 15, boy genius and anime/manga artist, aspiring third baseman/catcher or rock star. Lives with me, consuming every atom of food in the place like a collapsing star. |
I'm blessed with 4 great ones:
MR - 10 year old boy. Testosterone starting to be produced at a frightening rate........hitting his mind and body like a 7 percent solution....a sensitive boy from the start. He's just starting to realize how much smarter he is than his parents. Any advice on THIS stage of life would be appreciated. JK - 7 year old boy destined to be a linebacker. Tough as nails with the attention span of a mollusk! Good thing he's so cute! SG - My 3 year old princess! Everything a little girlie should be! Got this big fella wrapped around her finger! I love my boys, but there is something about that girl.... SA - 15 months next week and growing every day. Almost bigger than his 2 year older sis, and it's hard to get him to quite smiling! |

I have two from two marriages. Brittany is 16, cute as a bug, and stubborn as hell. Don't know where she got that from...must be from her mother. Right? Robbie is 16 months, and at that curious stage. Every night, when I come home, he comes running to the door with his ball, wanting to play. I enjoy it while I can, because I know that in a few years he won't want to play with Dad as much anymore. |
A precious little one-month-old little girl. She has her mommy's eyes, daddy's chin and has us both wrapped around her little finger.
/aaawwwwwwwwww:D |
I know I shouldn't be intruding here as I don't have children (and they're not in my forseeable future), but I am just really enjoying reading all of you talk about your children. Not that your other posts haven't done this for me, but these ones really add a human side to your TFP persona. Please continue. :)

it's quite nice to have this forum, to just be able to come in here and read things that make me smile :) |
My boy will be 6 in Feb. His name is Ocean. Like, OshnSoul's child Andrew, Ocean's personality fits his name.
|
More about Ocean: he amazes me with his insight, empathy, humor, intelligence and energy. I've had many a jaw dropping moment. Like, at 4 he asked, "If it takes 2 people to make 1 person where did the first two people come from?" Also at four he could not only add and subtract but do simple multiplication, now he reads books meant for children 2 years older than him. I'm so proud of these things but what takes the cake is that he's so well liked by other kids, teaches, and parents. He's funny and likable and smart! But honestly because of all his strong attributes he is a very difficult child to parent and teach. He is prone to big mood swings and intense emotion and of course...BORDOM! He's been labeled ADHD by his daycare, then his preschool, then his kindergarden! I won't medicate him...he may be ADHD but I'm not shutting off this kid unless he starts failing academically or socially, for now he's just a lot of work...but it's so worth it!!!!
|
^^^ I met a guy named ocean once- thought that was such a cool name!

I gotta lend my support to your descision not to medicate for a diagnosis of "ADHD". Drugging kids should be a last resort and reserved for extreme cases of behavioral problems, no one has done any research I can find that supports this kind of action for what children have been like for all recorded time. Fifty years ago, Ocean would have been called a Prodigy, today he is sick......I just don't get it. Our society has decided to regard normal childhood behavior as incorrect, simply because we don't have time for our kids anymore. Please follow your heart on this choice(as it is likely to have lasting effects on the most precious of things). Recent scientific studies have shown an actual re-wiring of the brain under the influence of many of todays anti-depresants, and psycopathic drugs. Yet very little research has gone into the results of such treatment. Think about it. How can you perform a twenty year study on a drug developed five years ago. Just my take. |

Three kids,
Taylor 15, 6'2" and 240lbs. Looks like his mom, is built like his youngest uncle and is every inch the mirror personality of me. I weep for the future! Olivia 6 going on 30. Started talking at 8 mths and could carry on an adult like coversation at 15 mths. She is also wayyyyyy smarter than my wife or me, we know this because we are always wrong! SHe recently came home from school upset because Gage was moving away and " he is my soulmate and how will I ever find him when we should be together?" a direct quote, I swear! I weep for our future! Emily 19 mths. Emily is easily the most inquisitive and wilfull of our three. Nothing is safe anywhere. If she cannot reach it she will build a staircase out of furniture and toys if you let her. She is quite able to talk but so far refuses and uses a series of gestures, grunts and tugs to get her way. Every once in a while she will slip up and say something " hi Dad!" and then realize she spoke and clam up. More future weeping here! |
We have 3. Two boys, one girl. The oldest is 17 and a senior in H.S. He's very laid back and lets few things bother him. He gets excellent grades in school and works too!
The middle one, SC (Satan's Child) is 14 and a freshman in H.S. He's the ham of the family, always looking for attention. Luckily, he also gets excellent grades and overall is a pretty good kid. My daughter, at 11, brings up the rear of the family unit. She's bright, intelligent, likes to get SC in trouble as much as possible, and, thankfully, is also great in school. She's in the 6th grade and has discovered boys. NNNNNooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooo! |
Three of hers and three of mine made six of ours...three boys and 3 girls...with the oldest and youngest girls born on the same day...
They range in age from 50 down to 43....and of coarse there are 9 grand kids and 3 great grand kids in there also... We love all of our kids, but since we live 1400 miles away, I am beginning to like them ...:D |
Helen Anne is 18 1/2 months and named using her two grandmothers' middle names, plus it easily contracts to Hellianne (pronounced like "hellion". Given her red hair (like mine) and her attitude problem (no idea where she gets it http://members.cox.net/wd40/lildevil.gif ), Hellianne is usually a most appropriate name. Just ask the dog, she'll verify.

i've got a 20 month old boy and our second, also a boy, is due in less than two months.
our boys are big, gibingus II was ten and half pounds at birth, and gibingus III is matching him ounce for ounce in the womb. bless her heart, my wife still loves me. but she never looked at me the way she looked at the anesthesiologist... but then again, after having been with her in labor, i thought he was damn handsome myself. we are presently looking for a larger house with space for a walk-in refrigerator. gibingus II is marvelously kind, which amazes me to see that is simply an innate quantity. of course he is still learning what is appropriate and also exploring his bounds and considerable natural strength, but he actually cares how people feel. he is extremely musical, and not very verbal. he sings more than he talks, but he sings complete songs. we were concerned that he was autistic, but have found out that is not the case. he is also very structurally oriented, and is very adept at puzzles and building things. he may be very heavily right-brained. he also is quite the ladies man, some gay friends of ours are most entertained by him and have said that he is living proof you are either born one way or another. i can't wait to see who gibingus III will turn out to be. thankfully, i get to watch. |
One son will be 3 in July, the other son is currently 6 days old.
|
Gabrielle Marie --- 11 months old, gonna be walking anyday now... but I have been saying that for weeks. Says Dada non-stop whenever she see me. Cute as a button, very curly like brown hair, with brite blue eyes.
I look forward to picking her up from daycare everyday. :D |

My 2 girls are 6 and 3 years old.
Kacey Elizabeth is the 6 year old. She has brown hair and brown eyes like her mother. Sariah Zoila is the 3 year old. She has blonde hair and blue eyes like myself. Looking at the two of them together you would never guess that they were sisters. Sariah got her middle name from my mother-in-law who was killed in a car accident while she was still in the womb. |
Two girls that are 6 and 7. They are two of the happiest little things.
