Living and Dying
i was thinking the other day about how the earth works in cycles of life and death: the seasons, day and night, etc. that made me wonder if there were cycles of life and death in human life. i would like to hear what you folks think. thanks.

"Live and die in front of a mirror," Baudelaire says. The words "and die" are not sufficiently noticed. As for living, everyone agrees. But to be moster of one's death, that is the hard thing. - Albert Camus, March 1942
Hmm.. cycles of life and death within life. I think we often have to metaphorically kill ourselves in order to let go of something we've been through to metaphorically rebirth ourselves and move on. I can easily say that I do this everyday in some way, and in a very significant manner at least several times a year.

there are some philosophies that suggest that there are cycles during your human time that are peiods of growth and change,
so i would think that during those cycles, and especially near the end, some of the things about you, you could consider that they are dying. |
