Ok people i was just wondering about this.

If say somthing like a pin or even a rock or somthing with a huge mass hit a metal floor and made a huge bang or "sound".
And no one was around to here the sound will the sound even be achknowlaged? Will it even ever have really existed?
Sry if this seem's a bit odd but its been buggin me. Thanks for your output people.

Surely you have heard the famous koan

"If a tree fell in a forest, and no one was there to hear it, did it make a sound?"

The answer is the same.

EDIT: I should have inserted an evil grin. Evil grin

Seriously though,

"A huge bang" is a phenomenon created by the human mind in response to sound waves of high amplitude entering the ear.

Without someone there to hear it, "a huge bang" cannot be created.

i think koan is just a word for 'story' used in the east? from my understanding. ie buddhist koans...

More like a riddle than a story, in that it poses a question. I don't think non-buddhist koans exist -- i believe they originate from a particular sect of zen buddhism.

Considering there is a medium to transmit the sound (air or water, etc)
The "vibrations" that make a noise to us will always exist.
Although if there is no around to pick up these vibration then no "sound" will exist.

However, considering that there are thousands of things surrounding that area
(not just humans or animals, but insects, etc),
that can pick up those vibrations & interpret them, then you'll always have a "sound".
