Boredom is a self-induced disease
It pisses me off so much when people IM me to say they're bored. WTF? There are SO MANY things that people could do; read a book, watch a movie, take a walk, work out, play a game, bang your head against a wall, do anything but tell me how fucking bored you are. There's so much stuff on the internet, there's probably more stuff made availible on the internet on any given day than a person can go through in a lifetime. Anything can be enjoyable if you look at it the right way, but today's people are so cynicle and everyone expects everything else to change for them without even considering changing for anything else.

No question about that.
If you're bored, it's because you're too stupid to be able to think of something to do. |
Yea, I'm not a huge fan of the "I'm bored" IM...but I'm pretty confident that that's just an annoying ice breaker. Like that person really wanted to talk to you, so decided that saying "I'm bored" might get you two into a conversation...or maybe even a movie.
:) |
i like to respond with "well im having the time of my life right now so no time to chat with you"
|
Fuck that, im bored right now, i have an hour before the game, not much i can really do in that hour, other than browse tfp, which is fine...*shrug* boredom makes the fun stuff more fun...know what i mean?

I never get bored, for some reason. I had this friend who would always call me when he was bored, and it would annoy the hell out of me. I have to drop whatever I'm doing and be dragged into your boredom? No thanks. I read news items on the Internet, participate in message boards, play games, read books, or listen to music when I have idle time. Boredom is usually a sign of lack of imagination or laziness.

Bored people in the most part are boring people.

I've said it many times.
I'll say it again. I am never bored. ever... |
I'm bored right now. So I guess I'll actually try and do some work.
Sigh... This job sucks. Self-induced indeed.. I completly agree. |

Boring people are bored, boredom spawns boredom. I live on an island, my best friend (and only guy my age living here) moved a month ago, I have a year left of shool before I can move away from here. I write, travel, work, watch movies, engange in enviromentalism, go out and generally fill up my scedual to the brim. I know people who live in our capitol and walk around being bored. Then again, we have only one TV-channel and didn't get a video player 'till I was 12, so I guess that may have helped. |
Oh I learned this so long ago. My grandmother taught me early on never to say "I'm bored" around her. She ALWAYS found something for me to do and OFTEN it was WORK. ICK! She taught me that work is fun. It can be if you make it fun. She taught me that if I was bored there was no reason to complain to others. It was my responsibility to find something profitable or enriching to do. If I'm bored it's my fault. I can change it.

I'm going to die before I get to do all that I want to do...I don't have TIME to be bored! |
I only get bored because i'm too lazy to do something, it has nothing to do with being stupid.
yeah i could do all that crap, I just don't want to. Yes it is self induced. Sometimes it's not so bad to be bored, just don't complain about it. |
I think its hard to be bored when I've got the internet. There's always something I can learn on tfp or elsewhere on the internet.

I have my piles of LPs, Old Time Radio shows and much smaller stack if CDs to keep me company when my books are not around like right now (my entire small library is at my parent's place right now :( )
