I don't think she did. The story goes that an Angel came down and told her that she was to bear the child that would become the son of God. Then, by the power of the Holy Spirit, the son was conceived. If any of you watched the show on the Discover Channel called " Mary, mother of Jesus" it explained how it IS possible to have a child without semen insemination. It's very, very, rare, but it IS possible. Makes you wonder..

from her attitude, and from gabe's words, it seems that God chose someone He knew would be willing, bypassing the whole business of a back-and-forth for the angel

Joseph was one gullible dude.
It doesn't matter if it's true or not, if your wife is pregnant and claims to still be a virgin, and you believe her, you're still one gullible loser.

Well, if you go by one of the basic precepts of the bible (that every person has free will), then we would assume that she would've had a choice. From what I remember, though, she didn't.
Another thing in the bible to make you go hmmm.....

If the impregnation was physical, it could be defined as "rape". According to the bible, it was a virgin birth, and therefore had nothing to do with penetration, or sexual acts altogether.
She was more like... probed. Area 51 style.
