Value of Time
To realise
The value of ten years: Ask a newly Divorced couple. To realise The value of four years: Ask a graduate. To realise The value of one year: Ask a student who Has failed a final exam. To realise The value of nine months: Ask a mother who gave birth to a still born. To realise The value of one month: Ask a mother who has given birth to a premature baby. To realise The value of one week: Ask an editor of a weekly newspaper. To realise The value of one hour: Ask the lovers who are waiting to Meet. To realise The value of one minute: Ask a person Who has missed the train, bus or plane. To realise The value of one-second: Ask a person Who has survived an accident. To realise The value of one millisecond: Ask the person who has won a silver medal in the Olympics. To realise the value of a friend: Lose one. |
time is something that is important when you make it important. otherwise.. it's just fleeting moments of concurrence.
friends and family... they are always valuable to me. I stop all the time to say,"I love you and I miss you. I wish we could stop our responsibilities and get together right now" |

a nice post duckznutz, although i think the time is just a measure of an experience. You have quantified many experiences using time, i think its the experiences that are most important. Maybe i am missing something, but i do think i understand where you're coming from. I also agree with Cynthetiq, in that its definatly more important some times when compared against others. Perhaps its just another way of saying don't take it for granted.

Last night, I lay awake in bed for 4 hours. In those 4 hours, I did nothing at all.
It got me thinking; it's incredible that we think nothing of 4 hours so wasted, but panic to save 5 minutes getting to work. To think that that 4 hours was exactly the same time I spent at the pub the other night, when in the same time I told a dozen jokes, got a girl's number, sang a song at karaoke, and played some pool. To think that it's the same amount of time in which I could have completed 2 short exams. It's incredible how relative the value of time is. |
