Morality of drug testing, and the circumventing of

I was recently pee tested for a job, and oops, I was a little bit naughty the weeks leading up to it. I did a whole bunch of research on the internet and basically used that info to pass it, but it got me examining my feelings on this subject. What better way to further define my own philosophy by listening to others talk about their's, right? Here goes...

What your guy's feelings towards drug testing as a condition of employment and ongoing employment? I think we can agree that one should not come into work in an inebriated state, especially if this were to be a danger to anyone else, but what business is it of your employer what you do when you are not on their time? Isn't this a violation of a person's privacy, and a way to imply a percieved guilt to someone without any real reason to do so?

And the second part of this query... assuming you disagree with the morality of drug testing, how do you feel about circumventing these (i.e. using the trusty dilution + vitamin B + creatine and increased protien intake solution)? Is there a "right" and a "wrong" way to defeat these tests in your guys' eyes (that is, is substituting a sample more immoral than using the method I just talked about?)?

i think that they are only o.k. when an effect has been seen on the job. Then sure, test away, but whats the difference between testing EVERYONE for drugs all the time and testing people on the job? just becuase they are working means the y dont ahve the same right to privacy as everyone else? this is before an effect has been seen on a emplyees job preformence.

As a non-user it doesn't matter to me either way.

I would side with those against drug testing though because it is just another step in taking away our "freedom".

I'm all for privacy and individual freedoms, and agree with YourNeverThere in that I think if someone's job performance is lacking, then test away.

Even though I've been clean and sober for several years,
I am strongly against drug screens(with the exception of job performance issues)
I believe if a person can do the job, and leave the drugs/booze at home then it's no-bodys buisness
My current job has pre-employment, and random screens.
I say if you can beat the test....GO FOR IT!
Of coarse being clean is'nt so bad............most of the time

i don't seek out employment from any company that requires lie detector or drug testing.

I trust that they will continue to employ me and continue to provide me the best quality employment possible, and on my end I'm to be providing the best quality work possible.

I get paid for mental capacity not incapacity.
