The God Delusion

I got this book for Christmas, which I thought was a nice paradox on my brother's part, anyways an incredible book, backs up Darwinian theory very well in my opinion. Makes for a great book to carry around if your the type who gets into arguments with Christian friends (or foes I suppose) due to the mass of arguments held within.

Who is the author?

Never mind...Richard Dawkins. Sounds right up my alley!

The God Delusion was a pretty good book. I have been a huge Richard Dawkins fan ever since I read The Blind Watchmaker as a teenager.

You can watch Dawkins's TV documentary The Root of All Evil? online here:

A couple of other good books I would recommend are:
The End of Faith by Sam Harris
Breaking the Spell by Daniel Dennet
What is Good? by A. C. Grayling
Why I am Not a Christian by Bertrand Russell.

CSfilm, thanks for posting the link. I've been looking for that documentary.

I'm partway through The God Delusion, and I think it's a great book. I just finished Letter to a Christian Nation, which was also very good. These reads are preaching to the choir (pardon the pun), but the arguments are solid and present angles that I hadn't thought about before. Both of those books, especially Dawkins', got a lot of publicity and initiated a lot of discussion (to describe some of it nicely). Plus, the shiny silver cover is a real eye-catcher on the train. All will be well if these books don't get me pushed onto the third rail one of these days.

It's amazing what sense can be made debunking nonsense.

Its true. He does a really good job, and uses such awesome theories like the space tea cup and the Flying Spaghetti Monster.

The Flying Spaghetti Monster?

I mean, the Fabulous Flying Zucchini Brothers often make an appearance in my kitchen when I'm getting the vegies ready for dinner, but the Flying Spaghetti Monster?
