Angel's at Work

I was watching this show on TV that shows some stories made up by writers and other remarkable stories that are real.

There was a woman who had been dreaming of going to Tahiti for years. She said "I wanted to come to Tahiti since forever, i can't believe i'm finally on the plane."
She was looking for her seat when she was informed that the first class row was behind her. She replied that she had coach. But then, the stewardess told her that she must have been upgraded. When she sat at the window seat, the stewardess came up again and said that she had to sit in the aisle, that was her ticket. The man who sat next to her asked if she wanted to sit in the window seat. As she looked to him, she saw the stewardess looking at her. She looked so serious it was scary. She shook her head almost visciously. She then rejected the offer.
She felt a little strange later on in the flight, and went to the bathroom to "powder her nose." She then heard an announcement form the captain. "Attention, please return to your seat immediately. She ran to her seat and buckled her seatbelt. She looked nervously around and everyone was smiling at her, as if to re-assure her from her fright. She looked at the stewardess and she heard her say "tighten your seatbelt." Yet, her mouth didn't move, as if she was communicating telepathically. She thought about telling the man in the window seat, but she thought he had heard enough of her senselessness.
Five seconds later, she heard a click, and 4 seats long worth of fuselage ripped off of the plane. She looked to the man next to her, who had been sucked out of the plane, no seatbelt. Her seatbelt, advised by the captain and stewardess, saved her life.

Im not the best at story telling, but i got the point across. I think. This a based on a true story.

Four words...

Angels in our midst.

by the way, my first post as being Tilted. :-D

Not to be too much of a cynic, but that story has "urban myth" written all over it.

Just so I am clear, was this show about delberately fake stories or those purported as real? Also, if there were angels on board why did the guy next to her get killed?

That's a horrible combination. The show should be all true or all fictional.

(Of course, I believe that all of these stories are fictional, but that is beside the point.)

I am not sure angels to exist, I'm not sure they don't exist -- however in this case, I don't think it was an angel but a nervous flyer who followed the rules... The guy in the seat next to her didn't follow the rules.

I like the touch in the story about how she was bumped up to first class and didnt know... That might make me believe in angels...

well, i paraphrased some of it, like, alot of people said stuff like that. The show was like a quiz. Some of the stories are made up, and some are real, and you're supposed to guess if they're real or not, and they tell you in the end.

the_marq 07-15-2005 12:28 PM

....and this one was clearly; Not Real. (?)

I think this is based on a true story in the same way that the Texas Chainsaw Massacre and Silence of the Lambs were based on the same "true story."

I think the show this is from is "Beyond Belief: Fact or Fiction?" and if so, then it's utter bullcrap... more like "Beyond Belief: are we bullshitting you, or do we admit it's fake?"

Angel's what at work?

Unless he means "Angel is at work."

Perhaps his next post will be "Buffy's at home."

Angel is the hispanic guy that cleans my office...right now it's about 2:15 pm, Angel is still at home or at the Spanish Social club.

Around here, he's the ASE certified guy in the middle of a garage full of people who pretend to know more htna they do about cars (he doesn't know as much as he'd like us to believe, though.)

The Angels were at work this weekend, taking 3 of 4 from the Yankees and increasing their lead over the AL West.

There is nothing wrong with believing in angels. It is as much a force as true love, true hate....anything.

Zephyr66 07-27-2005 06:10 AM

Nobody's denying the existance of angels, we're just denying the fact that this story is supposed to be proof of them.

Ragbags 07-29-2005 04:22 PM

The story sounds like rubbish too. The only story I know of in which a commercial airliner lost a significant part of its fuselage near the front is the Aloha Airlines flight 243 where a 737 had about six metres of upper fuselage peel away. The only person to die was a single flight attendant who wasn't seated at the time.

The Turkish DC-10 cargo door disaster had some rows of seats fall out (from memory) but they were all near the tail - well away from first class.

i believe the show is called 'beyond belief: fact or fiction' and the gimic is that you try to guess, at the end, which were fake and which were true... they tell you

squirrelyburt 09-07-2005 06:28 PM

How about the two former MS residents who arranged for donations to fill two semi's, then drove them to Kiln, MS. Those guys are angels.

Completely separate from the odd "story" above, and not to get into a theological debate- but angels don't save everyone, just those lives that aren't supposed to be over yet.

So to answer the question before it is asked- YES, I then believe it was the other guy's "time", and was "allowed to die". Whatever. The story is pretty much definitely bogus anyway. lol
