About to be struck?
There is a rumor going around that in the next 30 days or so, the earth will be hit by a meteor. And although I just heard this rumor. And cannot find and stories or facts because the media is so caught up in the Jackson case.
Has anybody else heard this? Is there and truth to it? Any facts at all? I hope not. Because I would love to prove the little jacka** who is going around telling it. (but oddly enough vague on the details where he heard it) dead wrong and shut them up for awhile.

Um, there are some solar flares that are suppose to be fudging with some magnetic fields tomorrow or the day after. Look for the aurora, btw. It should be nice.
The Delta Aquarid meteor shower should arrive at 3-4am on the 18th. Not sure about any impact news. Ar we talking something big or small? Deep Impact, or golf ball? Edit: All I could find was this http://www.usatoday.com/tech/science...tial-hit_x.htm |

The Earth is hit by meteors all the time. The vastest majority of time are dust-sized, with the occasional pebble-sized rock hitting us. On average, a meteor a meter across hits somewhere on the Earth once a year.
I going to take a wild guess and supposed that this isn't what you meant, that you meant a city-flattener or worse. None currently known are expected to hit anytime soon, but that doesn't mean an unobserved chunk of rock or ice isn't aiming itself at Dallas right now. ![]() |
