I'm starting to get freaked out
So...a lot of weird shit has been happening to me lately. Things that I cannot explain. I'm not a huge believer in the supernatural or anything, but after the last couple of weeks I'm starting to believe. Let me explain....
About 2 weeks ago, or there about, I was surfing the web-TFP-ing and such, when I caught movement out of the corner of my eye, I thought nothing of it, figuring it to be a bug, then one of my daughter's toys, the talking grill, starts going "Fire me up!!" and whatever else it says. Now I was freaked, because you have to move the thing in order for it to turn on. Then the sink in her play kitchen starting making it's noise, you have to turn a knob for it to turn on. Pretty weird, eh? It gets better. After the sink turned itself on I was done for the evening shut everything down and went upstairs (My office and my daughter's playroom are in the finished basement of my house). When I got to the top of the stairs, I noticed an overwhelming smell of cigarrette smoke, but no one in our house smokes, no one that we know smokes and the windows to the house were closed due to the 30 degree night air. When I went two steps in any direction the smoke was nowhere to be smelled...kind of freaky, what with smoke having that smoky property of drifting. As I approached the bathroom I noticed that there was a heavy smell of pipe smoke in the air around the bathroom and my daughter's room. I figured she wasn't smoking a pipe-she's only three. Once again, when I went two steps in any direction the pipe smoke was nowhere to be smelled. Nervously shrugging it off, I went into the bathroom, did my thing and came out and went to bed. I was thoroughly freaked out due to the smoke smells, so I was fairly wide awake. Then I noticed a circle of light on the wall. I figured it was from the neighbors driveway lights shining in through our blinds and hitting one of the holes that the strings run through. Well, they shut their lights off and the circle was still there. It was the only light in the room...now I'm completely freaked and not too happy. Nothing more really happened that night. The circle of light has been there on and off over the last couple of weeks and I've become comfortable with it there. I've rationalized it to be something man-made-makes me feel better. Over the last couple of days I've noticed something quite peculiar. It seems that sometimes there are warm spots here and there. I noticed it a couple of days ago. It was 85 degrees and my wife had the central AC on in the house, since the basement is ducted it was about 50 down there, but my chair was quite warm, as though someone had been sitting in it just a moment before and the immediate area in front of my keyboard was warm as well. I flashed back to the night that everything went whacky in the basement and started wondering if there was something to all of these happenings. I have noticed the same thing with my car seat being warm-at night, when it rainy, dark and cold, last night my side of the bed was warm along with my pillow-the whole side of my bed was warm. No electric blanket on and my wife was on her side of the bed and had not been on my side, freaky. Just today as I sat down to my computer after lunch, my chair was hot, my mouse was hot and my wrist rest was hot, as though someone were just sitting here. I am now completely freaked out. I know no one was sitting at my desk while I was eating lunch because I was sitting at a round table in my cube with one of the other guys while I ate. We started eating at noon, we finished at about 1pm, after shooting the breeze for a while, then I got up from the chair at the table and sat down at my desk and everything is hot-the heat isn't on, the AC is. How fucked up is that?? So, those of you that lasted this long....any ideas/similar experiences? I'm grasping for answers but only one "makes sense" right now.

Well, that's definitely unnerving. As comfort I would offer the fact that once you start to get freaked out, the more you'll look for things that freak you out, and the more effect each thing will have on you.
I'll go through one by one, not to debunk your ideas or mock you in any way, but to try to provide some outside clarity. Your daughter's toys were the first thing. Each could be a simple electrical short that triggered the sound, though both happening sequentially is pretty odd. As for the pipe and cigarette smoke, memory and smell are very closely linked. Perhaps something triggered that memory in your brain. Though, again, it's odd for a memory to be concentrated in one area. The spot of light should be investigated. See if you can determine its source, and thus put your mind at ease about it. How large of a circle? Have you tried tracing it back to the blind? Hot and cold spots are not uncommon in a house. Perhaps the heat from the computer warmed the area noticeably. The situation in your office is probably one that has happened before, but you never noticed it. Given that you are so alarmed by previous events, you likely accorded it more importance than it actually possesses. I admit that all of these are a lot of ifs, and Occam's Razor would seem to suggest the answer you feel makes the most sense is correct, but see if you can eliminate some or all of these, and then consider if the freakiness diminishes. Also, look at everything odd that happens with a critical eye, and especially look at your reaction to it. Would you have noticed it before? Good luck, man. Keep the info coming.

You're right, Kadath, these things need to be looked at with clarity and objectivity. For the most part I have, for example, I have been unable to ascertain the source of the circle of light. There is no reasonable amount of ambiant light that could make that bright of a circle of light on the wall in a pitch dark room. I've tried to cover all the bases with that one, including reflective surfaces, to no avail.
As far as the warm spots, I didn't bring every thing together until today after lunch. My mouse, chair and wrist rest were hot, not warm as the other times I experienced it, but they were hot. I have no idea how to objectify that-there is no reason for it. It has not happened before, I would have noticed it. They were hot like a mug of coffee hot. That's why I got freaked out. The warm spot on my desk at home could not have been from the computer because it was still in my laptop bag and the other computers I have were off, not to mention that I have an AC duct about 3 feet from where I sit, under the table. The smells and toys weren't the icing on the cake, but combined with everything else, the movement I saw and then the toys making noise and then going upstairs smelling those smells directly after....spooky shit. I will post more stuff if I notice anything else that happens.

my personal favorite way for a demon to totally freak me out is when they open my door all by their lonesome.
i don't have the strength to open my own door. yep, i just made a lot of people say 'liar!' but it has happened. there's a fine line between doubting the supernatural and using the LALALAL I CAN'T HEAR YOU way of dealing with it. spirits are everywhere. |

I related the story to a couple of guys I work with and they now think I'm crazy. I might be, who knows. It would explain a lot.

Well...I suggest that you enjoy the rest of the time you're here, because obviously you are a marked man.
Anyway...were you deprived of sleep, or food and drink, in any way? Maybe you were having some mild halucinations? The thing about the circle of light sounds familiar. About a week ago, I was in my bedroom, and these light beams were coming out of the ceiling. They were pretty faint, but you could definently recognize them as beams. They would come from the ceiling in two different directions crossing to form an "X" just above my floor. I was stone sober and awake at the time of this occurence too. I find that ignoring these things helps....however you're situation sound unique, in that you are having multiple phenomena. I guess I don't really have any suggestions for you , except for just sit back and enjoy the show. I was joking about the marked man bit...sorry.

I wish it was sleep deprivation or starvation or something along those lines. I wasn't hallucinating, that's for sure, I know how...uh...I mean, I know what hallucinations are, these weren't them.

.... some people can accept it, some people cannot.
I have an almost ethical view..... i don't believe in evicting anything, including demons, unless they bring harm.. at which there are measures to take to rid of them. most demons are incredibly clever and devious but usasly benign. just pay attention and watch the kids close. if they seem different you need to re-evaluate some things.... PM if you need help. i've been studying demonology for about 8 years. |

Actually once your open to paranormal experiences you will notice them more often. It's a higher level of awareness. I've had these kind of experiences since I was 5 years old. My mom's house is haunted by ghosts that played nasty pranks on us. My mom actually called me one time to ask how to make him stop. I asked her " Is the closet door in my old bedroom unlocked and open?" She said yes...I was like "hellllll noooo close it now" One of my closets had the old door to the attic in it and when it was left open at night weird shit would happen.
The house me and alpha phi live in has some sort of ghost animal and a guy that stands there and watches us. When alpha phi first seem him it scared the shit out of him. He was like "who the f*** is in my house!!??" I work in a nursing home and I notice paranormal stuff all the time there. I don't think this stuff is strange at all. To me it's pretty normal. Still freaks me out sometimes though. I even had the privilage of seeing a fireball or lighting ball (can't remember what their called) once in my bedroom when I was a kid. I have way to many stories for this.

Sounds like you have entered the twilight zone. If that stuff is for real, I would be freaking. Nothing like that has ever happened to me or anyone I know so I'm skeptical. I would assume there is a logical explanation for all of it, but it still seems spooky. Hope eveything works out ok.

WhoaitsZ, you're posts freak me out...watch the kids?!?! That's what I need to think about!!
Anyway, so tonight I told my wife everything and, of course, she now thinks I'm crazy too. I think that unless you've experienced it, you can't relate...at all. So, I'm in my basement office right now, everything seems jiggy. Hopefully it stays that way. Another question....why does most of this crap have to happen at night?

Wrkime - sorry i've lived with fundy Christians my whole life!
alright. sorry. i obviously wasn't thinking to clearly when I mentioned 'watch your kids'. i do apologize for such a vauge, un-nerving statement. a lot of spirits are childish. silly pranks, and such.... and kids and them have tendencies to connect. but going against all Christian beliefs i have zero evidence of them always trying to cause harm. a lot of them seem almost children themselves: kids are completely open to things and have built no LALAL I CAN'T HEAR YOU defenses so they will accept such much easier. it can be freaky.. like an invisiible dog. what you should do is open much more dialogues for a few weeks with your children. do not drill them or get stern. just nonchalantly discuss things, especially play and new 'games'. i am not going to lie and say they are all harmless. but most are. i think many are simply bored....... case in point: my door in my last residence. it would open, then close, open , then close. one day itold it "please fucking STOP". to my surprise, it quit for several hours. it was just annoying. then there's the Whoa This is Not Good moments... my nephew told us of a new friend who seemed harmless until he mentioned that if he told anyone she would hurt him. (slipped) we took action and found the source. we didn't play around since it could possibly be harmful. bleh, i've got many examples, but i'm not trying to make people think i'm mad (although i fear i just did). don't freak out...... if i were playing a joke on you and you freaked out i'd be winning. oh. on a innocent 'Z needs to be funny har har' note...... just don't have any clown puppets and really big knives close that clown in poltergeist scared the hell out of hell itself. eek! |

Yeah, I've seen a few things too. Mostly just black figures out of the corner of my eye. I'm a strong believer in God, therefore Angels and Demons as well. I've had experiences through other means.. but that's a different story.
My GF has seen one. It appeared to her as a stereotyped demon. tail, crouched, horns, black figure and red eyes.. yada yada yada. She had seen it several times so i'm not nocking it off as a hallucination. Damn, I wish I was there! My mother has had the sheet gently rise up and then float down again. That was when she first started to study in the religion. But yeah.. myself I've never had anything really happen while I was awake.. unfortunately. Anways, hope things work out

i've already said too much to not risk being called coocoo, so here goes
:i've woken up to a silvery-white thing holding my hand in the air. I've stared down a mostly shapeless black form once for about six hours. i knew if i slept, i'd die. i've been attacked by a mass about the size of my bed once. black, tried to smother me. i've had the shadowy figures walk by my doorway, but they could not enter. i have no idea why not. i've been (again) on the verge of death, sleeping when mom went to check on me but 'was held behind the door. there were.. things.. singing to you and i could not cross into your room'. i woke up feeling -good- i've had a blanket of mine dance around like a snake. this is what i can think of off the top of my head. |

Ya, i have experienced this kinda thing. My dorm in middle school (yes i was in boarding school since middle school) had a graveyard right behind it. A whole family, the former owner of the hotel, died in a fire before my school bought the hotel for a dorm. I still remember there would be knocking at night (really loud). At first i thought it was someone else in the dorm. but one night, we had everyone over for a sleep over (it was a smalll dorm with 5 people) and the knocking was just as violent as before. Eventually i just ignored it or told it to shutup. One other time, we had another sleepover and the windows were all squeaking while closed. We freaked so i suggested to turn on the music. After 10 minutes, as my friend commented on how he liked the song the radio, the stereo turned off. (we had to fit everyone on the floor and bunk bed) Everyone freaked out.... we couldn't sleep for the whole night. We will turn on music and it would shut off. The door would knock and the window would squeak.... It was scary as hell

anyhow, my niece moved nextdoor and liked me to take her for walks. i took her to it often. we helped set things back up and what not. we ended up tending the place quite a lot. i've only had one bothersome experience. if you wanna know, ask and i'll post it. but as far as 'seeing dead people', its never happened to me. and seeing toys and/or objects do weird shit hasn't happened either (except that blanket oding the snake thing) i sound like a crazy person |

NOTE!!!!
For those of you that think this stuff is crazy, be forwarned as I just kinda spilled my guts on a lot of my "sightings." It is a good read, but if you are interesting in the paranormal, then you won't be disappointed. NOTE!!!! WhoaitsaZ... no no you do not. If you've been studying this stuff for 7 years or so, i SERIOUSLY would love a forum section just about the paranormal... As there is SO much to talk about, I'd be much obliged (man when did i use that word last..) if you'd post it. Spose I should explain why I don't consider anyone to be insane, especially Z and Atropos and such. You guys speak of demons, from that there are angels. I've seen both. I don't take medicine, never smoked a joint in my life. Clean in every respect, but I see spirits, but only in glances. Beyond that i FEEL them. It goes beyond just a simple feeling. All my life I'd feel cold chills run through my body. I always tried to figure out what it meant...at one point I think it meant Elvis was my friend... hehehe.. But finally I came to the realization that I see spirits like a blind man sees the world. I Feel them, mainly their presence, but when I am in the correct mindset, I can actually pinpoint their location with a weird gut feeling. I can tell how many are in the room and WHERE they are walking... Kinda like a Sonar Sense. Though I've only known about the "Sonar" ability for about 6 months. Its an amazing feeling when I do it too. Also these cold chills (outside of the Gut " Sonar" Feeling) are like a language with spirits. I know I have a gaurdian, one that watches over me, and has become a great friend to me. I actually will talk with her (A friend who sees spirits told me is a she). Of course she can hear my words, but how do i hear hers? Simple, its through the "cold chills" that I get. Depending where the chill starts... either broad or pinpointing from an area of my body, and then how it passes thru my body, flows across the skin or just like a tap of coldness, they are all different things. So I know when she's happy, sad, or even pissed with what I am doing. I'll be watching a sad movie and I'll have that feeling to shed a tear (I'm a sappy guy, when i get a girl, I'm sure she'll appreciate it ) and then I'll feel the spirit "applaud" me. Its really great as she works as a partner in the spiritual world with me. When I speak about this information with others, alongside what i can see and notice, she verifies what others say. Again there is this distinct feeling that is like a.. "Yes, he speaks the truth." Its pretty cool. I remember ever since I was little, I would always talk to something in my basement room, never knew why. At first it was because i was scared because i felt something, later on I wasn't talking to myself but to it, as i KNEW something was there. Apparently Demons like to stay in a closet down there as well, though they do much any more. Its okay tho, as I just give them a show when i go down there. I tell 'em jokes, and I know they're laughing at me, and hey.. If it makes them happy and i still get a laugh outta there... Good things right? Now for the fun part. Here is why Z is NOT crazy. I am a religious man, and I can say with all my heart that I have been to Hell and back. Try taking that lightly... heh. I helped free a friend's soul from hell. One amazing experience, that took me a while afterword to fully accept, its alot to take in. I know that Satan... or the ultimate demonic spirit, take your choice, tells people that they would make them powerful when they die, but with my friend, I honestly do not believe he was joking. My friend was honestly 1st in command of many MANY demons when he would have died. He can see demons and they would say hi to him daily, as someday he would be their leader. When i finally uncovered all the truth about this I helped him without thinking of myself. Okay I spose this require even more backstory. (quite a lengthy post... ) When I was about 15 or so, I had a despression. I didn't realize how severe until about a hear ago, but one where i doubted everything and... it just terrible. During this time I had a demon taunt me in my dreams (I mentioned these dream in teh last version of TFP if any of you remember, as someone said it coulda have been a night terror, but the symptoms didn't fill out). This demon was huge and just laughed and taunted me, until the last one, when i showed no fear, and stated that i had backup, namely my god. It got scared, ran away never to be seen again. Well when i was helping my friend, I got demons in my dreams again. Obviously Satan didn't like me helping this particular soul very as he began to attack me too... IN my dreams. The last dream I was attacked by Satan's Daughter. This Z is partly why I wish to speak with you. The friend who I was helping also (obviously) has studied a lot about demons. So i'm curious to know if he had a daughter(tho this may or may not be your demon expertise). Now to wrap up and save the whole thing Hell story for another day. I decided to help him one day, and I spiritually stepped into the inner sanctums of hell. Yet I had no fear, I was more or less pissed by now, but I had safety precautions, so don't worry. I went in, helped to free his soul and left. An amazing feeling, and also that feeling of where time does not exist. NOW, for those of you that persisted through all of this... Hopefully you have Z as I really wanted you to hear this, as I normally don't even say this much to people I don't know, but I trust you with this, and I trust the rest of TFP who now think I lied when i said i don't smoke pot, that they won't go off blabbing this to anyone. I'll be here for more of this, as this kind of stuff just gets my mind moving. I once again can make my old Siggy for making a Paranormal/Dreams Forum I'll return don't doubt it, but now I must stop, as this is long and i'm getting that crazy vertigo feeling. Later, GakFace

I've had my share of paranormal experiences. Last year, the day after my father died, my mother and I were simultaneously awakened by his voice calling her name. There is a spirit, who I assume to be a Native American who lived in this area hundreds of years ago. He stands at the entrance to the woods behind my house, never moving, just standing, I assume he is watching over the land. The dirt on our property is only about 1-3 inches above the layer of bedrock, otherwise I'd worry about an Indian graveyard. I've seen an "orb" on my webcam; it was not visible to the naked eye. I took extensive measures to ensure that it was not a camera problem or a reflection of something else. My basement is arranged with a main room(the "playroom"), a smaller room (the "piaino room" at one end of it with an open arch as the door, and a storage area (the "workshop," which it used to be) with the door on the wall next to and perpendicular to the piano room door. Earlier this week, I was in the workshop getting something, the piano room light was on so that I could walk far enough into the workshop to turn on the light without tripping and falling. Once I was done, I turned off the workshop light, turned off the piano room light, and walked to the stairs (in the playroom) about 10 feet away. As I turned to flip the lightswitch, I saw that the piano room light was on. I assumed that I had only pushed the switch halfway down and that it had bounced back up. the same thing happened again, and I assumed the same thing. I turned it off and thought nothing of it as I went back upstairs. Later that night, I went down to get some laundry, and teh light was on again. I turned it off, and started to wonder about it. The next morning, it was back on. The night that it happened, my mother heard my father's voice again. A few weeks ago, another interesting incident occured in the basement. I left the workshop, and as the door has a tendency to fall open, I took a shall box from a table and put it in front of the door to keep it shut. As I turned around to shut off the light, the box was back on the table and the door wide open. I've had other encounters with the supernatural, and I am studying various related topics. I have learned to "see" auras around people and some spirits, and I have been able to count the auras in a dark room. Of all the paranormal experiences I've had, I've saved the best for last. We've all probably had dreams about flying, but mine once went a step further. I woke up with my nose on the ceiling, and sprained my wrist when I fell 6 feet down to my bed. |

Still don't know, but weird to think that it could have been one nite when i slept with my shoes on...
BTW how did you learn to see aura's? I've heard of people who could do that, but I have yet to LEARN how to do this, I just realize of "innate abilities" of my own and then practice with them so I can use them with finesse. I can never see the spirits, not with more than a glance, but I always know when to say Hi. Even tho no one sees anything, I still know to say hi to whoever it is that we cannot see... Ironic, i type this without speaking, and i get cold chills, namely wanting me to say "HI".. hehe that was kinda funny.
