was wondering if anybody knows if you can develop psychic (for want of a better phrase) powers? i know that on a whole you are born with them and that you develop them naturally. what i was wondering is if you have any small psychic powers is there any ways to try and develop them to the extend of what they can be?

reason im asking is that i have in the past known something was going to change for a while before it actually did. i know not much but it was an undeniable feeling that stuck with me no matter what and i was wondering if there was any way i can try and intensify or harness them at all...

Communicating fluently with your subconscious is probably the most important skill you can have - your subconscious knows loads more than you ever imagined. The feelings you get are probably the stronger ideas that your subconscious mind has, and they seep through into your conscious mind as 'facts' - things you know are right but dont know why.
Unfortunately theres no way to explain how to develop a smooth interface with your SC mind. Some experience in telepathy is probably a step in the right direction, but I can't really talk as I possess neither of these skills.

Once you can speak to your SC mind (so the theory goes) with confidence in your interpretation (it more than likely doesnt speak in any aural language) then you can ask it questions, retrieve information it already knows and even ask it to perform complicated tasks for you.

I speak like one's subconscious is like another seperate person... funny now that I come to realise that this is how I see it. I can't speak for everyone of course, this bit is just me.

I'm at a point right now where I want to figure out how to work with/control my psi. It just weirds me out sometimes.

Last week I was sitting down thinking about something totally unrelated, and "your ex is pregnant" pops into my head and I get this tingly feeling (hard to explain, but I guess tingly works). I didn’t pay it much mind until yesterday. The ex calls and sounds depressed, or at least not herself. At one point in the conversation she is like, "Can I talk with you about something?", and I just reply "Your pregnant" (remembering the premonition or what ever it was from last week). Yeppers.

It's kind of driving me a bit nuts, not in a bad way, but I'm the type of person that likes to be in control. I like to know what’s going on and I really can’t figure out why/how things like that come into my head or (more importantly) how to make it happen when I want to.

yeah i know.. hence why i am going to start in the new year.. just wasnt sure if there was anything else aswell.

Perhaps the greatest master of what we call psychic powers (telekinesis, aura reading, etc.) was Master Yoda. He said "Do or do not. There is no try!" This works for me. Don't "try" to use your gifts, just use them. Have you ever heard a one hit wonder and thought "Damn, what's the name of this band?!?!?" As soon as you stop trying to think of it, it comes to you. Open yourself to the possibility that there is no "developing" psychic power, only using it. As my good friend (and psychic) says, "Get out of your own way."

Cheesy as that Yoda line sounds, its exactly true. Procognition, remote viewing, even telekinesis are all very base-level abilities, analogous to moving ones arm.
If you're asked "How do you throw the ball?" you might say:
"Well, I pick it up using my hand, and draw my arm back, and then I propell it forward and let it go."
"Ok, but how do you move your arm?"
"Um, I guess I... just do."

It is because of this that it is almost impossible to "teach" someone else to cultivate and use these abilities. Theyre so base-level, it's like trying to "teach" someone to see, or to move thier fingers. You really have to discover it for yourself, and when your mind is clear, things will happen for you.
