I dunno, I wouldn't call the cops, ghostbusters maybe. Since there was a sound I would at least get a tape recorder and try to capture the noise. If possible I'd video tape as well. Capturing paranormal activity on tape could get you some cash. Deciding to sell your home so quickly seems a little odd. Things would have to get pretty heavy before I sold my home without even TRYING some other solutions. Good story though, gave me the willies!

First three things I would check out:
1. Attic. Maybe the running sound is actually above you and somebody(or an animal) likes running through your attic. 2. Pipes. It could be a noisy pipe under the floor with air trapped in it, possibly hitting against the floor itself. 3. The Dog. Can you be sure that the dog is downstairs, and not running into your room then hiding under the bed or something? It might be a rat doing the same thing too. Of course your comment about the door shutting goes against all this, unless your door moves around from any slight vibration. Also I don't see these things are emulating the sound of running human footsteps very well, but you never know how your mind might play tricks on you at night when you are scared. As for the perfume, I have no idea. |

as cool as it'd be for this to be real, I simply can't believe it unless there's proof we see proof (which there should be apparently). I'm gonna have to call hoax as well.

Of course, one time I lifted my arms to open my eyes and someone/thing grabbed my arms at the wrist and squeezed real hard. I could feel the nails digging into my skin. I didn't open my eyes, I just put my arms down and lay there for probably a half hour before I could work up the nerve to look. Years later I figure it must've been my mom thinking she was being funny, but she's never admitted it. Quite the opposite actually, she rather vehemently denies doing it. |

Thank you for the concern, we're renting an apartment while the house is up for sale. Nothing strange has happened here, so I hope that means that it is all behind us now.
The last night there was terrible. My brother and I sat in a room at the opposite end of the hall from my bedroom. All the lights were off except a small night light in the room we were in. We each had a camera so we could try and get a picture when we heard the running start. We were just about ready to bag the whole thing and leave. Honestly I was begining to wonder if maybe it had all been in my head, I had to keep telling myself that my wife had heard it to and my dog seemed to sense something as well. Anyway, 2 am rolled around and we heard the running start. At that moment everything went dark, like I had put on sun glasses. The light was still on, I could even see the lights from outside through the window but it all seemed darker. I have never been so scared in all my life. All I could think about was getting out, but I couldn't move. I heard my brother kind of gasping, like he was having trouble breathing. He told me the next day that he heard me doing it as well. It seemed like that lasted forever but it was probably only a matter of seconds. Finally it seemed to be easing off and as soon as we could we got up and left the house. Once we got outside we realized we were drenched in sweat, and my brothers nose was bleeding. We got in the car and went to my brothers house and told our wives what had happened. That night my wife and I decided to move. I haven't really wanted to think about it so I have been avoiding this forum and thread. I wish I had pictures or recordings for those who want them but my desire to survive far outweighed my desire to document the whole thing. |

It is good to hear from you frogza, I'm glad everything is going better, even though that is because you are pretty much out of the house. That is crazy you have no reason to lie and that is what scares me about your story because it isn't hyped up. It is just a regular story, but a few scary parts, I do believe in things in limbo, but I just hope I don't have to discover that in person. Take it easy.

Holy shit, this just became the most chilling, spine tingling story I've ever read. I'm glad you're out of there. I wonder if you/we can contact some sort of para-normal type researchers to check that place out. People in that field may be very interested in your experience. Glad you and the family are safe man. When you put more time/distance between yourself and these occurences maybe you can post more details. I know I speak for everyone else following your thread when I say that I would love to learn more about it.

Don't worry Frogza, no one wants to believe something that scares the poopie out of them. I believe you and think you're right to move! Sweetpea is right though, it could be attached to an antique recently purchased. If so, Don't take it with you to your new house. There are professional paranormal investigators out there who may help. I hope this doesn't follow you to your new home!! Good luck. If you ever want to talk about it, you have more than a few receptive people here to support you.

Thanks Frogza for getting back to us . . .(whew!) Glad to know that things are going to be okay for you . . .
I wonder if you have to warn the future owners of this issue?? Is there anything legally binding that you have to warn of a ghost? I don't think so . . . but it sucks for the next owners . . I think moving was probably the best thing for you to do esp. under the circumstances . . . this has probably changed alot of things for you in your life . . . if you want to talk.... we're here . . . .

However my friend takes a different stance--he believes very much so in the paranormal. I had an experience that just wasn't fucking normal. The only similarity between you an I Frogza is that my friend may be right. He believes that everything paranormal is human based; that we can manifest these occurances at (and even against our) will. I happen to agree with him on that. Something may be happening in your house that you are unaware off. Some part of your inner mind is warning you of something that your conscious mind cant or wont acknowledge. Move out for now, maybe get an air ionizer if it would make you feel better(same thing that any "ghostbuster" would use). Later come back and tell what it is. After that, call a "paranormal" investigator. If nothing else they will make efforts to find out what is going on. Stay frosty and sleep tight now.

If your wife is hearing the sounds and smelling the perfume also, then something is wrong. It could be that you have been under a lot of stress lately, it's possible that your mind could be playing tricks, but who knows, maybe it's something more serious.

My fiance says she sometime sees a man with a white baseball cap standing behind the wall of the hallway, and peeking his head into our bedroom. The dog goes crazy, and barks loudy... I don't see it.. but we have only been in the apartment 3 months.... crazy though.....
