Green thing in the mirror
 

When I was about 10 my brother and I were talking late one night, we shared a room. As we were talking I looked down and saw a green shape in a mirror that was on the wall near the foot of my bed. I got a sick feeling in the pit of my stomach and asked my brother if he saw it to. He said he did.

The shape took up most of the mirror which was about 3' x 4'. It had an "X" running from the four corners that was black. My brother and I both looked around the room to see if we could see where it came from or if it was reflecting onto one of the walls, and saw nothing. The drapes and blinds were closed on the only window in the room and our door was closed, so we knew that whatever it was, it was coming from inside the mirror.

We layed there staring at it, afraid to move and both feeling sick to our stomachs for I guess about ten minutes. Finally we dedided that since he was the closest to the door and light he would hit the light and run and get our parents. As soon as he hit the the light it began to fade and had disappeared by the time he got back with my Dad.

We took the mirror down and put it in the garage the next day. A few months later we sold it in a garage sale.

why on earth would you sell it? and how much did you get for it?

So that's where that mirror came from ........

Hmmm.... When I was seven or eight, I saw something similar. I walked around the corner of the house and there, on the fence, was a bright greeen _thing_ that looked like a cross between an octopus and a spider; not as many as eight legs, maye. It was very fleshy, and had long black markings down each leg to the center. Maybe three feet across. I ran like hell and got some people. But when I came back, there was nothing there but a spiderweb of about the same size.

Transdimensional substantiation? Brainfart? Who knows?

It was Slimer.

:hmm: Are you sure that you guys hadn't just been picking your noses and flicking the bogies onto the mirror.
An accumulation over a few months may look similar to what you saw.

I have to agree....it was probably slimer

If you look at a light, or you let light shine in your eyes and you move your head around so that the angle the light is entering your cornea changes.

Then, you look at something white, or you can look at something very dark/black even. It leaves a temporary burn on your retina that will cause a figure of normally green color to show. But why you would both see it boggles me.

if there was another mirror in the room, maybe the mirror was reflecting the other mirror reflecting the other mirror reflecting the other mirror reflecting the other mirror...and taadaa you found the key to opening the door to another dimension...all you had to do was jump in the mirror. HAHA...just kidding, i saw that on the twilight zone like 2 days ago.

LOL twilight zone. Something green in the mirror sounds like something from a scifi show, or what I used to watch when I was a kid.. "Are you Afraid Of the Dark" on Nickelodeon. Ahhhh back in the day.
