My Ghost Experience (1993)
Back in 1993 I was a college freshman and still iving at home. I worked in a video rental store and frequently closed up, taking several videos home with me to watch after work. Typically I would site about 2 feet from the Tv, propping up my chair on two legs by putting my legs/feet on the Tv stand.
One night I'm doing this and watching some move, I don't recall which but I'm sure it wasn't a horror movie. Out of the cornor of my right eye, over by fireplace about 15 feet away, I see a ghost floating towards me. White, misty, old woman, more solid towards the top and breaking up to nothing near the knees. I'm absolutly terrified. I can't breathe, my heart is thumping 1000 miles per hour, and I can't move a muscle. Just as she passes behind my chair and goes out of my view, I can move again again and my front two chair legs hit the floor. I was freaked out. Needless to say, there was no more sign of the ghost. I'm pretty sure I didn't fall asleep.

I worked in a video store for 7 months. There was definately something odd about the place, and everyone that worked there shared the sentiment. Normally, there were only 1-3 people working, and at slow times, I would sometimes think that there were customers still in the store, hearing very faint talking, bumps or knocks against the video stands, and upon further inspection, find that no one besides myself and my coworkers, who weren't the source of the noise, were present. This happened rather frequently, and was slightly disturbing, but I didn't dwell on it.
I won't discredit your experiance, but perhaps it was the product of exhaustion and an overactive imagination. It could very well have been a day dream or something similar. The fact that you have only seemed to experiance something supernatural once while you worked there points to such an explination. However, if it truely did happen, that is pretty frightening.

Things like that have happened to me in the middle of the day. I dont think your imagination went over the top.
But hey, if you have to believe it wasn't real to comfort yourself, go ahead. ![]()

Afternoon? Middle of the day? Noonday sun? Here we go, people.
In Tombstone, AZ (where I spent the latter years of my childhood and most of my teenage years) my friends and I were in one of the mines (since shut down and boarded off) which goes underneath the Helldorado set. If you walk through the mine it goes full circle and one day (we'd been down there several times over the past few weeks, and had even spent the night in the mouth of the mine) as we were joking around at the top of the stairs, I look down into the entrance (had a staircase down into the mine) and thought I saw movement at the bottom of the staircase...I shook it off but one of my friends happened to notice my face. A few minutes later, as our conversation and laughter continued, something at the bottom of the stairs got my attention. It was a man. In suspenders, no shirt, bald and dirty brown pants (maybe white at one time?) and he beckoned to us to "come on down" and at this point my friends all notice that I was just staring down the steps. They keep asking me what's up and I look at all them like they're crazy. I asked them if they saw the guy. He was standing RIGHT THERE at the bottom of the steps! For a few minutes he continues to beckon, all of my friends can't seem him and I'm feeling like I'm going crazy...we decide to leave, they practically have to drag me along...the man gets angrier and angrier and when I turned my eyes away and look back - he's gone. A few days later, after we got past feeling freaked out, we went back in there (don't ask me why) and when we get to the back of the mine, we can't go all away around anymore - it had caved in... If we had "come on down" we may have been trapped by that cave-in...

I had a ghost experience mid-day, after a good night sleep, no booze or drugs involved. My buddy and I were cleaning an office attached to a huge warehouse on a Saturday morning. When we arrived every electrical device in the place was on. Coffee machine, computers, lights.. EVERYTHING. I called the office manager to make sure that there wasn't anyone working that day and he said no. I asked how they could have left everything on in the office.. He said they must have been in a hurry to leave on Friday. No biggie, we started cleaning.
My buddy went to one side of the office, I started working on the other. About 20 mins later I felt someone just staring at me from behind. Figuring it was my buddy being lazy, I said "get your ass back to work". No response. I said "Dude, seriously.. Get back to cleaning.." No response. I turned around to give him shit, and there was nobody there. This happened 2x more times before I went to see my buddy and ask him if the same thing happened to him. Just as i was rounding the corner to where he was, I heard him say "Dude, quit trying to scare me and get back to work". I explained to him what happened, and we both got scared and figured someone might be in there with us. We went out to the warehouse to grab a couple of pipes (make us feel tougher at least!) and while we were out there we saw a figure moving upstairs on the third floor through a window. My buddy ran up one stairway, I ran up the other.. We were pumped on adrenaline and fixing to beat some ass. We get to the top of the stairs, whip open the doors... And there was nobody up there. (3rd floor was vacant, just wide open space.. no cubicles or anything.. No hiding spaces basically..) We looked out the window to the ground floor of the warehouse, and saw a dark shadow moving out into the boxes. We hauled ass downstairs yelling, smacking things with the pipes to try and scare the thing (person??) away.. We searched the entire warehouse (alarm was on while we cleaned, so nobody could have left without setting it off) and found nothing. We were so freaked out we finished cleaning the place in record time and then promptly quit. 6 Months later we were talking to the owner of the company, and told him what happened. He started lauging and said "So you met the ghost" We said "WTF???" He said that while they were building the warehouse a construction worker fell from the roof and died. He has been there ever since. At that point we were VERY happy we quit. I guess the ghost had seen us there for so many Saturdays he figured it was time to introduce himself.. Bad idea.. ![]()

Ghost stories eh? Well let me tell you one. Back when I was a kid, oh we'll go with 20 years or so ago, the family (my family) lived in Wyoming on a reletively large ranch with quite a bit of history to it. All the houses were the original houses, blah blah blah. The first lady to ever live in the house was named Mary, I can't remember her last name at this time, but it's kinda irrelivent to the story.
So it's just my mother, my younger brother, and myself alone in the house one night, my brother and i being in bed already, when doors started opening and closing, it sounded like people walking all through the house, cabinet doors opening, all the typical "ghost" stuff ya know. So mom kinda freaks out a bit, but then stands in the middle of the living room and says "Mary, be quiet, you'll wake the kids up!" And everything stops. All sounds, all movements, all everything. It still gives me chills to think of that house.
