weird pictures
one of my friends went out the other day for a trip through keepers, its a big forrest about two hours away from where we live, well anyway when he came back he told me that he had found a digi cam its a 3.3 mpixel Powershot S20 i aint sure if thats meant to be good but it had a 300mb memory inside so its gotta be worth alot, whoever dropped it must of been crazy. anyway my friend uploaded the pictures to my pc since the adapter to my digi cam was the same fitting, well when we uploaded the pics i noticed that they are very artistic but kinda weird at the same time. anyway here have a look thought id share them with everyone.

Well, you can't argue with a free camera. I hope the person it belonged to is okay. I suppose a few pictures are peculiar in a haunting way. That old building and tower are very interesting. I wouldn't mind seeing those places myself. I can't really tell whyen the building was made, though picture 15 has some clues. The way the bricks were layed suggests late to post industrialage. However, the use of wood in its construction (the wood over the door and protruding from the wall on the right inbetween floors) clues at an older age. The tower looks like an abondoned lookout station that you can usually find on the east coast from when rangers didn't usually have helocopters to locate people, among other things. In picture 17, this is where the paranoia kinda sets in. Next to the promenant tree in the middle left of the shot, one could argue that there is a humanoid form. It's leaning to the left and slightly hunched over. Was this a picture of a companion on the hike? Was this just some branches that resembled a human form? Was it something else? Picture 18 has two light areas in the shape of eyes, if you use your imagination. Was the man taking pictures being followed by a feline? The forementioned picture with the reflection is interesting, too. There seems to be a male on the top floor of the tower, hunched over on his knees. The tower seems to have a steel four sided roof with glass windows that can be opened out and up from their closed state. I'm not quite sure why there would be a mirror attached to the ceiling. If you look the the right of the man, you can see what lookis like an eliptical shape on the floor (?) next to him. His head seems to be pointed in the same area where his hands would be. It's possible that there is something he is working on out of sight or behind his body. After the rush down the stairs, the pictures tell a story, if you choose to imagine. He saw the figure in the tower and was really freaked out. He ran down the stairs. The next few pictures are of him moving away from the tower. After that he seems to be following power lines, probably back to civilization. The power lines seem to stop, then the camera is on the ground. Creepy...

Alright, I just noticed something strange in picture 18. Looks sort of like a monkey hanging from the tree.
Also, take note that the last picture seems to be taken from the point of view of someone lying on the ground. Last edited by saut; 08-25-2004 at 06:21 PM.. |

the fifth one from the top seems to have a guy I think it is in the lowerish right hand corner..he looks a little hunched over too and his right arm is almost at an odd angle like he was hanging..I guess he could be looking at something on the ground or below him but they are kind of eerie and creepy too because it's just some random pictures found in a camera so who knows the story behind the pictures...it does kind of remind me of the blaire witch project too..who knows if we'll ever know what the pictures about..or who took them and why

Didn't notice pic 5 till you pointed it out. Looks like the guy had similar shoulders to the guy in the tower. Probably just a second person with the photographer. Or something else. I wonder why the guy in the tower has his shirt off.

I will agree that all these photos are beautiful and eerie at the same time. However, I think it's pretty obvious to say that they have had things added after they were taken. Some of the figures stick out too obviously, for example, the figure in picture 18 is very much out of place. It would be nice if they were real, but I seriously doubt it. Ever since the camera was invented, frauds have used it to try and prove the existance of ghosts. I'm not saying I don't believe in ghosts or that none have ever been captured on film, but whenever I see a film or photo of a "ghost" I am very skeptical of it's legitimacy. So, I'm going to go out on a limb and call these fake.

First let me say that I love stuff like this. There are a couple of humanoid figures in some of the other pictures too. In picutre 16, there's a figure of a man in one of the windows. Also, on pictures 9 and 8 of the strange looking tree, there's what looks to me like a giant spider with a cat's head on one of the branches. Finally, on the next to last one there appears to be a skull or something peering out from the shadows. If you're looking at the center of the picture, it's down and to the right. I will crop and resize these when I get home if they need to be pointed out.
Regardless if they are fake or real, the photographer did an excellent job capturing a certain mood, while not overtly drawing your attention to the subjects (if they were posed before the pictures were taken, that is). Also, if you look at these in order, it's easy to tell the photographer was telling a story (with the "beings" following the photographer and the last few shots taken while running, then the picture of the skull and taken from the ground on the last one). Seems like someone is a very skillful photographer. Edit: Just noticed the original poster was banned so I guess we'll never get the real story behind these. Oh well, are there any on the TFP who feel inclined to make up a story to go along with these pictures? I'm sure we have quite a few great story tellers among us.

pshot05.jpg also has a human type figure in it.
I just checked all the exif data on the pictures, and it doesnt have anything resembling the original exif camera data. If these files where un modified, they should still retain there exif data, but these dont. I also know that the canon powershot line does dump out exif data. Still great pictures |

Wow. Thanks for pointing those out, shamalama. I noticed the big one in the middle but none of the rest. If these were created with photoshop, I'm really starting to like the person who did them.
Also, about the exif data: I'm no camera specialist by any means, but wouldn't the raw pictures have been bigger than these? What I'm trying to say is, would the exif data still remain if the photographer used a program to crop or resize the picture?

Many of these are photoshopped. The eyes in the shadow one almost made me laugh.

Well, from the way the original poster wrote, I'm guessing he's either British or Canadian.

That seals it! TFP ghost hunters and explorers club is now formed! Who wants to go with me? Anyone? Helloooo? *echo*
Ah rats. Well, it was a decent try. Actually, a couple of friends of mine and I were thinking about heading out to the Bell Witch site here in Tennessee, or some other places around the South. Anyone know of a good "haunted places" listing?

Damn, had me going. Xepidemic: That alien picture cracked me up! I looked at that forum link, it's funny how everyone thought they were cool at first until they started noticing the creepy stuff. Just like this thread. I wonder how many forums these pics have made it to. Scaring nerds all over the world, one forum at a time. I feel like a sucker. I salute the originator of this prank, whoever you might be...

My post earlier about forming a group was actually in jest, but if any of you are really up for it, then what the hell? I'm in!
ShaniFaye, the Bell Witch cave (site? area? whatever) is in Adams, Tennessee. It's about 30 miles NE of Nashville, which I'd imagine would be quite a drive for you (heck, it's quite a drive for me too.) You can read all about the legend and what it's like now at www.bellwitch.org.
