An odd experience from two years ago.

I looked for the thread I made about this in Members' Playground, and concluded that it must have been from before the crash, since it isn't there. I was reminded of it when I was the thread on personal UFO experiences.

I set out on my morning commute to school beginning around 9:40. My class started at 9:55, and it didn't bother me any more than usual that I would be half an hour late to class. There are two streets between my street and the highway (Merritt Parkway in CT,) and the trip over those passed without incident.

The highway portion of the trip begins at the entrance ramp that accompanies exit 44, and ends with exit 34. When traveling southbound from exit 44, the trip begins with a 5.3 mile trek through "no-man's land," a stretch where the state department of transportation never got around to finding a spot for an exit 43 (thank God for that, the area doesn't need an exit and it would just clog up the road more.)

As I merged onto the highway, I cued up the second track on my mp3 player, which was connected to my cassette player via an adapter, and pushed the adapter into the tape deck. As I did this, I looked at the time, 9:41, and pressed play. System of a Down's "Chop Suey" began playing, and I pulled into the fast lane and quickly reunited the bottom of the gas pedal with its best friend, the floor mat.

I'm not the most attentive person, and I often let my mind wander while driving. During this trip, I zoned out like I usually do, coming back to my senses at 9:43. "Chop Suey" was still playing, almost finished, as the clock ticked over to 9:44. I expected to see exit 42 coming up, as I was closer to 100mph than 90.

I came around the curve, and saw the sign for the next exit. What I expected was was "Exit 42 1 Mile." What it said was "Exit 35, 1/4 Mile." I had seemingly traveled over 16 miles in less than three minutes. I double-checked the time against my cell phone, which was only a minute off from my car's clock. I double-checked my mp3 player and it definitely was not set to repeat the track.

Ten minutes later, as I walked from the garage to the school building, I once again confirmed the time, which was 9:54. I walked into my Calculus class a minute before the professor arrived.

Crazy

I dont know if I did the math right but that works out that if you did travel 16.5 (or so) miles in 3 minutes you would of been going 330MPH.

Still that is pretty nuts. There are alot of stories about people loosing or gaining time, but this is the first time I have read about it on a forum.

For me, it was one of those "never would have believed it if it didn't happen to me" things. And yes, your math is right. Buicks just aren't built for that kind of speed.

Maybe you read the clock wrong the first time you got into the car?

Just saying this because on more than one occasion I've awaken at ridiculous times. Looked at the (digital) clock and was like oh shit! late for work! I once arrived at work 3 hours early and was very confused as to why the afternoon shift was still in full swing.

This happened to me probably 5 or so times in the last 2 years. Since I sleep during the day.(graveyard shift)

yeah, when i wake up and look over my back at the LCD clock, i always confuse the 7 and the 9 for some reason... it happens, i highly doubt that what you said happened as you said it did.

I was paying attention to the time because it was a review for a calculus exam, and the weird events kind of burned the memory into my brain.
