Is this just a coincidence?
I used to be a manager at a busy pizza place. This happened about a year ago, but it was so strange I have not forgotten it:
I had been working at this place for about 3 weeks. Just before close I was standing outside the back door smoking a cigarette. Sometimes I like to clear my mind and take notice of the first thought to appear, sometimes the thought is really weird and I have fun trying to figure out where I got that thought from. Anyway, my thought at this moment was the name of a girl I used to go to middle school with, about 10 years prior. I had never talked to her, and I have only 2 memories of her at the most. She was not anyone who would have any reason to be in my mind at all 10 years after seeing her for the last time. The next day I was assigned the task of sorting a huge stack of applications alphabetically. This was a stack with a few hundered applications accumulated over the span of about a year. You can probably see where this is going, but I found the application of the girl I had thought about the previous day. This kinda freaked me out. It was an older application, from about 3 months before I had even started work for this company, so I would not have seen her drop it off. She is very unique looking, so if I had seen her I would have noticed right away, as opposed to seeing her picking up a pizza without recognizing her, only to think of her later. So... am I looking too much into this? Has anything like this ever happened to you? I should also note that this store is about 20 miles from where we went to school. |

I dunno? I'll often think of something obscure, say...a movie that I haven't seen in years. Often that movie'll be on TV a few days later.

May I go out on a limb and vote for coincidence? This is the type of thing you only notice when it becomes "strange." Like predictive dreams. Still, if you see her you should totally hit on her. Because, like, fate and stuff.

Its either a coincidence, or you have seen the name somewhere, and just not conciously noted it, since the random thinking of her the previous day.

I was just forced to watch Serendipity this weekend which actually turned out to be not so bad thanks to Kate Beckinsale's hotness. Anyway, I suggest you watch this movie, Anleja. It has to do with this kind of stuff. Synchronizicty, fate, coincidences etc. You'll either watch it and obsess over this or realize it was just a coincidence and move on with your life. Let us know if you do anything about this!

I'm with Dim Lord on this one. Consider all the times that someone pops into your head and you DON'T see them. People don't take notice of those things because they're not interesting. Given all the random thoughts that go through a person's head in a day, it's amazing that this kind of stuff doesn't happen more often.
