Do you get really paranoid when reading this forum late at night?

During the day I'm fine, but sometimes if it's like 3am and I'm reading the forum, I start to look over my shoulder, and freak out a little when I hear the smallest noise such as my dog moving around in its basket. Anyone else get really paranoid?

Polyphobic 07-22-2004 06:03 AM

I always get paranoid when I am tired. Especially, late at night or at work.

skullfunk 07-22-2004 08:09 PM

Honestly, I don't. I guess that comes in part with my skeptic attitude towards everything.

The thing is, I think that I would be more normal if I was freaked out once in a while by the claims made on this forum.

Trisk 07-22-2004 10:00 PM

I love reading these stories but I only get freaked out when I'm actually around something that freaks me out. Like...after playing with an ouija board, I might start feeling really paranoid.
I rarely get paranoid in my apartment in the city either. For some reason, I just feel safe here. However, when I'm visiting relatives in quiet suburban or seclusive areas, I always get a little spooked. It's just too damned quiet.

sub zero 07-23-2004 06:09 AM

Yup...but its part of the reason I do it. Start reading this forum usually around night time. One of the recent topics that really scared the bee-jeesus outta me was the time traveller one cause it seemed so indepth.

ManWithAPlan 07-26-2004 06:12 AM

i agree with slim, poly and sub zero:-D

every time i read this forum .. posts about ghosts, etc .. makes me get all jumpys.

kinda the same effect of talking about ghosts with friend.. then getting quite freaked out when it's time to go to bed.

Sp0rAdiC 07-29-2004 03:33 PM

Doesn't normally have an effect on me, but when it does, I've always got my baseball bat next to my desk. Whenever I'm in my room, I've got a baseball bat right next to me. Hmm... that makes me wonder. Whenever I go into a room, anywhere, I look for an item I could use in self defense if I needed it. Is this normal? I've always done this, but I've never been in any fights or anything like that... I asked my friends about it once and they just thought I was screwing around with them. Anyone?

dawiz73 08-04-2004 06:01 AM

time-traveler kinda bugged me, too. Not that I saw him behind me when I was reading the forum late at night, or anything, but because I think that it is plausible. Not plausible enough to stockpile anything, but enough to ask my friends and for them to tell me that I am nuts. I think they knew that before, but now they have a reason. I DO wonder what is happening in other places at this moment in time and how they effect me. Kind of an extension of that 7days show, only I do not go back in time. Does that make sense?

Sounds like Ohio. Do you live in Ohio?

Willravel 08-24-2004 09:04 PM

Don't be embarassed everyone! It's perfectly natural. When your brain senses what could be percieved as an unknown danger, it puts your senses on edge. You pay more attention to sudden sounds or movement. The 'sixth sense', or the ability to sense happenings ouside of the base five senses, can play tricks on you. You think someone is watching you or someone is nearby where there is no one. I just found out about a creature called El Chupacabra, or the goat sucker, an animal that might live in central America. I got really edgy sitting in my room reading dozens of articles on the creature. I'm sure I was no where near a chupacabra, but had you asked me that night, I might have thought otherwise. That little thing is creepy.

lol ive got a problem with reading these forums in the early hours of the day >_<

absen|t 08-25-2004 06:59 AM

ye whenever i read this forum at night i start to get a little para think that there is sum1 stood behind me looking over my shoulder, -.-

Sargeman 08-25-2004 11:54 AM

The only time I get paranoid is when I feel someone's watching me then I look over my shoulder and see my wife with that "WTF are you doing this late at night looking at the TFP titty board holding that "thing" in your hand!" look.

Great_White 08-27-2004 01:12 AM

Its 2am right now and Im dead tired. But I dont want to get up to pee, because i know im gonna be scared/paranoid walking to the bathroom in the dark.
bleh.

Dostoevsky 08-28-2004 08:36 PM

I don't normally get too edgy when I read this board but this series of post is an exception. They just freak me out for some reason. Probably because they have a high level of detail and relative 'believability.'

The funny thing is that I always scour this forum in hopes of finding something that will freak me out like these threads did. I guess I want to be scared in a sense. At the same time, I really have no interest in seeing a ghost or coming into contact with the paranormal. That's a little to scary for me.

aphroditeskiss1 08-29-2004 12:34 AM

I didn't used to, but I just moved into a dorm and all the little noises I'm not used to start to freak me out now...
