Bohemian Grove

What is the Bohemian Grove? The Bohemian Grove is a 2700 acre redwood forest, located in Monte Rio, CA. It contains accommodation for 2000 people to "camp" in luxury. It is owned by the Bohemian Club.

What is the Bohemian Club? The Bohemian Club is a private. all male club, which is headquartered in the Bohemian building in San Francisco. It was formed in 1872 by men who sought shelter from the frontier culture (or lack of culture).

Who are the present members? The Club has evolved into an association of rich and powerful men, mostly of this country (there are similar organizations in other countries). Some artists are allowed to join (often at reduced rates), because of their social status and entertainment value. The membership list has included every Republican U.S. president (as well as some Democrats) since 1923, many cabinet officials, and director; & CEO's of large corporations, including major financial institutions. The reason I wont mention names is because I feel if you investigate this for yourself it may or may not be believable.

What industries are represented among the members? Major military contractors, oil companies, banks (including the Federal Reserve), utilities (including nuclear power), and national media (broadcast and print) have high-ranking officials as club members or guests. Many members are, or have been, on the board of directors of several of these corporations. You should note that most of the above industries depend heavily on a relationship with government for their profitability.

The members stay in different camps at the Grove, which have varying status levels. Members & frequent guests of the most prestigious camp (Mandalay) include: Henry Kissinger, George Shultz, S. D. Bechtel, Jr., Thomas Watson Jr. (IBM), Phillip Hawley (B of A), William Casey (CIA). and Ralph Bailey (Dupont). George Bush resides in a less prestigious camp (Hillbillies) with A. W. Clausen (World Bank), Walter Cronkite, and William F. Buckley.
What is the bottom line? A place to the most powerful men go to free their guilt (if any is present and keep their conscious clear to continue to do what they do.

Video shot undercover

**It may take a couple of minutes for the video to kick in

Remember as your watching this---just who the members are.

I enjoyed the video, but the devil-worshiping speculation is out to lunch. The Bohemians do a yearly pageant in which they bid farewell to care, or woe, or whatever, and burn it in an elaborate and boring theatrical ritual. I actually found a copy of the script in a used bookstore once, years ago.

And yeah, the yearly Bohemian Grove gathering is the epitome of privilege and power, especially the northern california variety (Bechtel, BofA). The elite get to gather together and walk around naked in the redwoods for a couple of weeks, if they so please, male-bond and do deals. The elaborate spectacles, vow of silence, and all that crap just make it seem more spooky than it is. A fair number of former waiters and such have told all about what goes on there to SF-area columnists. And of the high-ranking attendees, you forgot Prince Phillip. Apparently couldn't even keep his pants for a week (they really don't allow _any_ women in), so he always took, uh, field trips during the retreat to find negotiable female companionship.

Actually, here's a website that'll tell you everything you need to know, from local (Sonoma County) activists who picket and try to infiltrate the Bohemian Grove every year. Cool site:

Here's also a link to a pretty good article in the SF Chronicle about elite SF men's clubs, including the Bohemian Club. Talks a lot about what goes on in the grove.

Speculation? --out to lunch. Perhaps; but the whole thing in general is beyond breakfast, lunch, and dinner. Do you know what the symbol of what their burning is? Hey; its a free country so each to their own. However when someone takes public office; I think theres a certain walk that should be stridded; not embracing (whether boring, fake, real, etc) the joy of letting the weight of care go; to feel free for another year.

Alot of these men are christian right? . . . . Right.

This sounds pretty casual to you, wow.

I wish I were invited to Bohemian Grove for a couple of weeks, maybe then I could get a cool job.
