Songs played backwards..

A friend of mine posted this in an irc chat room I hang out in. Listen to the songs and then listen to the clip backward...this was seriously disturbing.

damn good flash programming, however, you cant make out what is being said (in my opinion) if you dont read the words first.

Yea i had a hard time making anything out too, then i saw the reverse lyrics. The Britney Spears one was the easiest to hear.

The Beatles and Pink Floyd intentionally put those in there. The others are coincidence.

Interesting stuff. It was really tough to figure out but once the lyrics were shown, it seemed to fit. Sketchy, very sketchy.

lol... intentional or not that is just awesome. And in answer to Britney : "Sure, I'll do that if you'd like!."

I don't know, nor do I care if it is for real, but even if they're there intentionally I have a sneaking suspicion that it wasn't influence by the morning star.

Herk

Btw, for those of you too lazy to test it but to cynical to believe it, I also, didn't believe it, but checked it and those are the true backwards cuts.

Sweet jumpin jesus! That's really messed up. The Led Zeppelin one is really bizarre. Although I've got to give it them for putting together something that long and that coherent both forward and backwards.

The Brittany one is just hilarious.

What really tripped me out the most was that Stairway is actually one of my top five songs of all time.

I have seen several studies that tried to prove it but had to settle for inconclusive results because they didn't want to admit that those who were listening to backwards messages had the same results as the control groups. I think the excuse was that the pool of participants was too small (~100 people.) These were all done by groups (religious, anti-rock music) that had some motive to prove their point, and even they couldn't twist the results in ther favor. I don't think I still have the papers, they were for a high school class.

From what I have read, the "toolshed" refers to the Aleister Crowley manor where Jimmy Page lives/lived at the time of recording. I'll try and find the link that explains this in detail...

Edit: Found it. Link here: http://www.reversespeech.com/framestairway.htm

Quote:

Until approximately 1985, Page owned and lived in Crowley's former house, "Boleskine," a sprawling farmhouse on the shores of Loch Ness, sometimes called the "Toolhouse" Boleskine was originally purchased in 1900, by Crowley, for almost twice its value, because it met certain requirements of the Books of Sacred Magic of Abra-Melin the Mage. These requirements included windows and a door that opened to the north toward a secluded structure that was to serve as an oratory. It's commonly assumed that a small outbuilding to the far right was the oratory.

Crowley stated in his diary that "shadowy shapes" used to escape the oratory and enter the house. It's been reported that during subsequent rituals these "shadowy shapes" were unleashed with dire effects on visitors, staff, and a few hapless visitors from nearby Foyers.
Follow the link for a good deal more.

Man that is some creepy shit. The Brittany one is just hilarious, dumb whore. I heard a creepy ass one that I think might have been posted here before. After you go through the first two subliminal messages, the third one is a song played backwards. Its the Lords Prayer. 'our father who art in heaven.......' bla bla.

I didnt hear anything but gibberish (except the Floyd one) till I read the lyrics.

The Beatles one is epsecially sketchy as is the Queen one.

Back then it was pretty creepy and very controversial.

Nowadays it's nothing to put in full explicit lyrical content how many "ho's" you've had, what you like to smoke and drink, and who your god is.

My how times change.

I think ELO also had some backmasking in one or a few of their songs.

I heard the Beattles pretty clearly as well as the Floyd, the others were iffy at best in my opinion. I could only force myself to hear the lyrics after reading them. How would a 16 or 17 year old Britney Spears figure out how to do something like that in a song anyhow?

There is much more worrying stuff on modern pop music lyrics when they are played in right direction than in those old songs together.

Anyway, that Britney thing was really hilarious.

addendum - that damn colour test really got me.

The Brittany one was extremely iffy. And I think they cut her off in the middle of a word in the forward version
