That is crazy, when my cousin died similar things happened(things being in places you already looked) just not to me. Two of my relatives told me stories about similar happenings.

Yes, frequently. Sometimes it's just a bug or something, other times....I'm not sure what it is, but that's when the freaky stuff happens.

Do you suppose that there is some connection to the toolbox and the entity? You mentioned that it took the batteries from on top of the toolbox and then it was the safety goggles. It's just a similarity/recurrence I noticed. Maybe experiment further with putting things on the toolbox? Rig a camera to watch it? It sounds like if there is a single place things keep happening it would be easy to track.

I'm really interested to hear more...

I'm afraid to see what it might be. It's not a mouse or a cockroach, I'm hoping it's just absentmindedness on my part, but I tend to think not. In any case, I'm not feeling too eager to actually see shit happen on camera. If I get bold enough someday, maybe, but it's inconsistent. Lately in my basement office I've felt as though there is someone with me, not a bad feeling, just a feeling. Could be me just being a freak or it could be something more, other things have been happening lately too. I will write about them in a new thread.

Now that I've put my Jr. Scientist Cap away, I can relate a similar story to wrkimes.

Friends of my parents when I was a kid lived in an old house on the water. At some point the wife started to get the feeling that the house was inhabited by spirits. Her family thought she was crazy but she confided all of this stuff in my Mom because she knew my Mom wouldn't laugh. I even got to go to a seance (sp?) in the house that my Mom and her friends organized with some local psychic lady. The psychic said she felt something was in the house, but I always thought she was just saying that (this was about 25 years ago)

Eventually the happenings in the house just stopped. My Mom passed away about 12 years ago and I thought my Dad didn't keep in touch with these friends of hers but I recently found out that he went to a party at their house, they still live in the same place. Maybe I'll call them up and see if anything else ever came of it.

Has it become better? Are weird stuff still happening?

I moved, but not because of the goings on. I just wanted a bigger house. Nothing interesting in the new place. Though it took me a while to get used to the normal creaking of the new place.

I would love to find a place that is supposedly truly haunted, though, and spend the night to see if I experience anything-of course, it has to be close to where I live.

Thats an interesting theory but reading white text on a black background burns my retinas and is enough to make everyone look blue for about 10 minutes!!
